NFL Week 17 – Roundup and Results

Week 17 of the NFL is now history. Fortunately, this only means we have one week to find out how the postseason matchups will be shared.

In the blink of an eye, we will find ourselves in week 18 of the NFL regular season, but first, we will review what happened in the games that just ended.

We cannot start in any other way than mentioning the Buffalo Bills player, Damar Hamlin, who collapsed in the middle of the game against the Bengals and is in critical condition.

The 24-year-old collapsed in the first quarter of the popular Monday Night Football (MNF) game, underwent cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the Paul Brown Stadium turf, and after 16 minutes of medical attention, was rushed by ambulance to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center hospital.

After this, the same players and their coaches spoke with the referees to suspend the game with a score of 7-3 in favor of the Bengals.

Going into sports matters, we can highlight that we already have 11 teams qualified for the postseason; in week 18, the rest of the teams will fight to get one of the three remaining slots.

NFL Week 17 – Dolphins vs. Patriots – Roundup

The New England Patriots are still alive and dreaming of the AFC Wild Card after winning a challenging and crucial game over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday afternoon by a 23-21.

The Dolphins had some issues even before the game started, as they would be without Tua Tagovailoa as he was placed in concussion protocol for the third time this year.

New England started with everything in the first quarter and managed to score their first seven points to start dreaming of victory. However, the Dolphins were able to react quickly and tied it up 7-7 before the game went to halftime.

We saw an extremely close game in the second half, with both teams playing strategically well. But a Dugger interception gave the Patriots the lead back with less than three minutes left in the third quarter.

Finally, the Dolphins could pull within seven more points in the fourth quarter, but it was not enough for the victory.

With this, both teams have a record of 8-8 and will play for their lives in the final week of the regular season.

NFL Week 17 – Buccaneers vs. Panthers – Roundup

With an immense Tom Brady, the Buccaneers managed to come from behind against the Panthers to take the NFC South once and for all and start thinking about the postseason.

Tom Brady threw passes for 432 yards, three long touchdown passes to Mike Evans. Evans caught ten passes, went 207 yards, scored on scoring drives of 63, 57, and 30 yards, and became the first player in NFL history to post nine consecutive 1,000-plus yard receiving campaigns.

The Panthers were up 14-0 at one point, but after their second touchdown drive, the Buccaneers woke up like a beast and were able to rally behind Brady and Evans.

The Bucs (8-8) can finish the regular season with a winning record if they defeat Atlanta next week. Then, as division champions, they have the privilege of starting the Playoffs with a home game in two weeks.

NFL Week 17 – Jaguars vs. Texans – Roundup

In a real beating, the Jaguars managed to take the victory with a crushing score of 31-3 against the Texans, who are closing the season, as they have played the previous 17 games, as a natural disaster.

The Texans will have to rethink many things for next season if they want to turn this situation around.

The Jaguars were superior to the Texans at all times, despite playing at NRG Stadium. Trevor Lawrence did whatever he wanted with the Texans’ defense, as he had 17/21 pass completions.

But there is no doubt that the ground game was the Jaguars’ primary weapon in this game, as three of their running backs scored touchdowns.

With this victory, the Jaguars are in first place in the AFC South and will have to play a genuinely electrifying game against the Titans to see which team qualifies as the AFC South champion.
