The final matchday of the Club World Cup group stage is here, and Inter Miami and Palmeiras are battling for a spot in the next round.
Inter Miami pulled off one of the tournament’s biggest upsets by defeating Porto 2-1 with a stunning free-kick goal from Lionel Messi.
Palmeiras, on the other hand, managed a 2-0 win over Al Ahly, securing the victory that had slipped away from them in the opening match.

Why Bet on Inter Miami?
Inter Miami arrived as a controversial guest, but they’ve been the only CONCACAF team to step up. With four points, they remain unbeaten and sit second in the group—a draw would send them to the next round.
After a goalless draw with Al Ahly in the Club World Cup opener, they pulled off a historic 2-1 win over Porto with goals from Venezuelan Telasco Segovia and Argentine Lionel Messi, coming from behind after Samu Aghehowa’s penalty. The ‘Garzas’ are the first MLS team to beat a European side in an official match.
Seattle Sounders and Los Angeles FC, the other two American teams, have lost both their games, just like Pachuca. Monterrey, on the other hand, has two draws and still has a chance.
One area Javier Mascherano’s team needs to improve is defense, as both against the Egyptians and the Portuguese, goalkeeper Oscar Ustari has been the standout with multiple key saves. Jordi Alba is expected to return to the starting XI on Monday, and the team is expecting to see Marcelo Weigandt recover.
For Inter to qualify, they must win or draw. Even with a loss, they could still advance if Al Ahly doesn’t beat Porto.
Why Bet on Palmeiras?
Although they are South American and had a European team in their group, Palmeiras was considered by many to be the strongest side—and they’ve proven it. With four points, two goals scored, and none conceded, they lead the group.
After a 0-0 draw against Porto, where they deserved the win, they defeated Al Ahly 2-0 with an own goal by Wessan Abou Ali and a great strike from José López, both in the second half.
Abel Ferreira’s team needs to improve offensively, as they’re a strong side but are wasting the chances they create. Much more is expected from players like Vitor Roque, Raphael Veiga, Estêvão, and Facundo Torres.
Argentine midfielder Aníbal Moreno is being closely monitored, and it’s unclear if he’ll be available on Monday.
Just like their opponent, a draw is enough for Palmeiras to qualify. The only way they could be eliminated from losing is if Porto wins and the goal difference works against them.
