After a scorching battle in Silverstone, the 2025 Formula 1 World Championship heads to the Belgian GP in one of the most iconic and unpredictable circuits of the calendar: Spa-Francorchamps.
Known for its fast corners, dramatic elevation changes, and the legendary Eau Rouge-Raidillon complex, Spa offers a stern challenge to both car and driver.
A chaotic wet-dry Grand Prix at Silverstone saw Lando Norris claiming a home victory after a 10-second penalty for unsafe release behind the Safety Car took the lead from Piastri.
We can’t leave unnoticed Nico Hulkenberg, who made history by earning his maiden podium in his 239th race, climbing from P19 to P3 in a standout strategic drive.
Norris (226 pts) and Piastri (234 pts) are now separated by only eight points in the Formula 1 Driver’s Championship, with Max Verstappen (165 pts) 61 points behind.

2025 Belgian GP Circuit Preview
The Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps is a 7.004 km track featuring 44 laps, totalling a race distance of 308.052 km. Spa is the longest track in the F1 calendar, featuring fast elevation changes and a mix of straights and high-speed corners.
The legendary Eau Rouge and Raidillon sections are among the most famous hill-climb complexes in the world. This part of the circuit features a quick left-hand turn followed by a right turn, where cars are compressed before they launch uphill onto the Kemmel Straight. Drivers need to be mindful of tire stress and degradation on this track.
For the 2025 Belgian GP, Pirelli has selected three non-consecutive dry compounds: C1 (hard, White), C3 (medium, Yellow), and C4 (soft, red). This unusual choice (skipping C2) aims to offer a wider performance spread between compounds, encouraging more two-stop strategies and increasing tactical variation as Spa imposes extreme load on the tires.
The weather for this weekend starts with 60% of drizzle on Friday, clearer in the afternoon, and temperatures of around 19-21 °C.
On Saturday, it will be partly cloudy, with a 20% chance of passing showers with maximum temperatures of 22 °C.
On Sunday, there is a mix of sun and clouds, a low chance of around 20% of a light shower, andhighs up to 22C.
Spa’s fame microclimate means it can rain on one sector while staying dry elsewhere. Track conditions may vary significantly even during a single lap.
2025 Belgian GP Betting Picks
The 2025 Belgian GP could be a pivotal round in Formula 1 for both Max Verstappen and Red Bull. The Dutchman thrives at Spa, having won multiple times. Despite recent qualifying struggles, Max Verstappen’s confidence on this track makes him the favorite heading into the weekend.
However, there is tension around leadership transition and the impact of Red Bull’s internal changes on track performance, with this being the first Formula 1 race without Christian Horner as Team Principal.
After an unwhelming start to the season, Charles Leclerc will be looking to bounce back at Spa. Ferrari has shown improvements in recent races, and the team has a solid history at this circuit. Leclerc’s strong qualifying form and aggressive driving style could be an advantage on a track that rewards bravery and precision.
Lando Norris has had a standout season, and McLaren’s improvements have put him and his teammate Oscar Piastri at the top of the championship standings. Norris is riding a three-race winning streak and thrives in mixed conditions. On the other hand, Oscar Piastri, the current leader of the driver’s championship, is another contender for getting at least a podium finish at Spa.
