In Renato Paiva’s debut as head coach, Fortaleza failed to take advantage of their home field and drew 1-1 with Bahia, remaining stuck in the relegation zone.
It was the home side who opened the scoring in the 29th minute after a corner kick, where goalkeeper Marcos Felipe punched the ball away, but the rebound fell to Marinho, who struck it first-time from outside the box for a great goal.
There were several chances for both sides, shots hitting the post, and even five goals disallowed, but Bahia finally earned a well-deserved equalizer in the 80th minute when Rodrigo Nestor’s free kick hit the wall, bounced back to him, and he shot again. This time, the ball deflected off a defender, changing direction and wrong-footing goalkeeper Magrão to make it 1-1.
Both teams kept pushing, but the tie couldn’t be broken.
The result favors Bahia more, as they sit sixth with 25 points. Fortaleza, on the other hand, is second-to-last with just 11 points.

Cruzeiro continues its great run and remains at the top of the Brasileirão thanks to a dominant 4-0 win over Juventude.
Everything went the way of the Belo Horizonte side, who played an excellent match, although they managed to score only once in the first half. A bicycle kick from Kaio Jorge was deflected by Christian, who ended up netting the opener to make it 1-0.
In the second half, Kaio Jorge sent a pass back to Gabriel Barbosa, who fired it in to make it 2-0 in the 51st minute. Twelve minutes later, Gabigol struck again, this time from the penalty spot, scoring his fourth goal of the tournament.
Near the end of the match, Eduardo found the net following a double header in the box, sealing the 4-0 final score. With the win, Cruzeiro sits atop the table with 33 points, three ahead of Flamengo. Juventude, meanwhile, is in 18th place with 11 points.

The big surprise of the weekend came in Salvador, where Vitória beat Red Bull Bragantino 1-0 to move off the bottom of the table.
RB, who were only three points behind the leaders, were the favorites, but they were dealt a bitter blow when, after nine minutes, after a corner kick, Renato Kayzer shot inside the box for the only goal of the game.
The visitors tried to equalize and had their chances, but were not convincing and left the Estádio Manoel Barradas empty-handed. On the other hand, the home team reached 15 points, moving up to 15th place and out of the relegation places.
Brasileirão Matchday 15: Flamengo vs. Fluminense
Flamengo -152 | Fluminense +472 | Draw Offs: +277 |
In a tight match with few chances, Flamengo came out on top in the Rio de Janeiro derby with a 1-0 win over Fluminense.
Fla, who are just three points behind the leaders with a game in hand, were the better side and created more opportunities, especially after Pedro came on. The striker had a couple of chances until, in the 85th minute, a corner kick was headed by Léo Ortiz, and Pedro slid in at the far post to tap the ball in and score the only goal of the match.
It was the striker’s sixth goal of the Brasileirão season, and a key moment for coach Filipe Luís, who hopes to see his forward regain confidence after struggling since his injury.
The ‘Mengão’ sits second with 30 points, while the ‘Tricolor,’ which recently sold their best player, Jhon Arias, is eighth with 20 points.
