Why Bet on Cruzeiro?
Cruzeiro is one of the main contenders in the tournament. With 24 points, they sit in second place, tied with leaders Flamengo, though the ‘Mengão’ has fewer matches played, more goals scored, and fewer conceded.
The team from Belo Horizonte has seven wins, three draws, and two losses, scoring 17 goals—the second-best attack—and conceding eight, making them the third-best defense. Taking advantage of Flamengo’s participation in the Club World Cup, Cruzeiro had a chance to go top of the table. Still, it ended up with a scoreless draw against relegation-threatened Vitória.
One of the standout players this season has been striker Kaio Jorge, who has scored eight goals and provided two assists.
They recently played two friendlies, losing 1-0 to Defensa y Justicia and beating Banfield 1-0, both Argentine clubs.
Among the players unavailable to coach Leonardo Jardim are Eduardo, who is suspended, and Matheus Henrique, who is injured. However, Christian has served his suspension and is back in the squad.
Why Bet on Grêmio?
On Grêmio’s side, things aren’t going too well. They sit 11th with 16 points after four wins, four draws, and four losses, scoring 12 goals and conceding 15.
In their most recent league match, they drew 1-1 at home against Corinthians. Across all competitions, they are currently on a six-game unbeaten run, with four wins. This week, they played the Recopa Gaúcha against Série D’s EC São José and won 2-0, claiming the title for the fifth time.
The team’s top scorer is Martin Braithwaite, with four goals and one assist, directly involved in nearly 50% of the club’s goals.
Among the injured players are Rodrigo Ely, João Lucas, and João Pedro, while Miguel Monsalve has recovered and played a few minutes in the Recopa Gaúcha.
Final Betting Analysis: Cruzeiro vs. Grêmio
It will be an interesting match between two teams that could be contenders, and both come off league draws in their most recent outings. While Cruzeiro played friendlies, Grêmio had an official match, albeit against a much weaker opponent. We believe the standings do reflect each team’s current form, and the home side should come away with the victory.
The odds at Gambyl Exchange favor Cruzeiro, with their Moneyline at -141, while Grêmio stands at +477, and a draw is at +252.
The last time they faced each other was on November 27, 2024, in this very stadium, and the match ended 1-1. During the previous five Brasileirão games played in Belo Horizonte, Grêmio has only lost once and won twice.
