Cruz Azul’s form is no longer just an accident. Martín Anselmi’s team is on a bad streak. In their last game, they lost 2-1 to Necaxa at home.

The Máquina Cementera started the match on top of the scoreboard, with a goal by Carlos Rotondi in the 9th minute after Ángel Sepúlveda brought the ball down for him. Three minutes later, Diber Cambindo equalized when he sped away and beat goalkeeper Kevin Mier alone, while José Paradela turned the score around with a brilliant cutback in the area to shoot close to the left upright.

Cruz Azul is fourth with 22 points but has lost three of its last four matches. Necaxa is seventh with 21 points and only one loss this season.

The Mexican soccer derby took place at the Akron Stadium, but neither Chivas nor América could score, leaving the match 0-0.

This point is more valuable for the Águilas, who had taken out the Rebaño in the Concacaf Champions Cup during the week despite losing 2-3 at the Azteca. The aggregate score was 5-3.

The team coached by André Jardine, who were slightly better than their rival, reached 25 points and are in second place, while Chivas have three games without a win in the Clausura, so they have 16 points and are currently occupying the last place in the Play-Ins.

In the 57th minute, Jesús Gallardo scored the second with a header after a corner kick by the Spanish creative Sergio Canales.
