The regular phase of the Liga MX is ending, and Club América is playing to finish in first place in the Clausura 2024. The good news is that they will close against the worst team in Mexico’s top flight: Puebla, who will be the home club.

The Franja, as has been their custom this semester, comes from a 3-1 loss to Tijuana. The only goal was scored by Miguel Sansores.

The Eagles were surprised on the road, as they lost 3-1 at the home of Pumas. Nevertheless, they remain in first place thanks to their goal difference.

Why Bet on Puebla?

There were not many expectations for Puebla this season, but neither did their fans expect them to make a fool of the size of what they did in the first half of 2024. With goals from José Zúñiga, Efraín Álvarez, and Kevin Castañeda, Tijuana beat Puebla 3-1, with only Miguel Sansores celebrating, who was sent off to make matters worse.

In its last 11 matches, La Franja has only earned one point. Moreover, in their previous five games, they have conceded 14 goals. There is no other way to categorize this team than as a failure. Puebla has only five points in the semester, is in last place, and has only won once in 16 games. They have scored 17 goals while allowing 41, the worst defense in Liga MX.

At home is where they have taken their five points of the semester. Their last point earned was on March 8, when they drew 2-2 with Atlas.

In addition to the loss of Sansores, Puebla has injured Facundo Waller.

Why Bet on Club América?

América is the opposite side to Puebla, as it is in first position, its qualification to the Playoffs is secure, and it only wants to close this phase with a victory to remain at the top. However, last week, the Águilas lost 2-1 to Pumas, who scored goals from Ulises Rivas and Leo Suárez, who made the law of the former players apply. The Coapa team’s goal was scored by Henry Martin, with a penalty.

With 32 points and a goal difference of +17, América is in first place, equal with Toluca, which has a goal difference of +16. Several aspects of this team should be highlighted, especially its good defense, which has only allowed 11 goals. It is the best defense in the championship.

They also have Martin and Julián Quiñones with six goals, while the Chilean Diego Valdés has scored five more.

This is a team with a hierarchy, which, as the current champion, knows how to face tests and has the ambition to occupy the first place. However, the game against Puebla is in the middle of their CONCACAF Champions Cup semifinal series against Pachuca, so coach André Jardine may rest some players.

The Águilas report no injuries, but Brian Rodriguez received a red card on the last game.

Final Betting Analysis: Puebla vs. Club América

The last time these teams met, the Águilas won 3-0, with goals from Kevin Álvarez, Leo Suárez, and Julián Quiñones. América is undefeated in 15 games against Puebla. The last time La Franja won was on April 20, 2018 (3-1).

The numbers at Gambyl Exchange have América as the favorite. Their Moneyline shows 1.4, Puebla has 6.82, and the draw is at 4.9.

América wants to put the defeat to Pumas behind them, so they will not hesitate to show their voracious attitude against Puebla and will take all three points to secure first place in the first round. We’ll go for a 0-3.

Go for a win for América. If you bet $100 at 1.4, you will gain $40 for a total payout of $140.
