Most of the most relevant series in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 were settled by a single goal difference, so there is still expectation on the teams that can go through.
Real Madrid beat Leipzig in Germany, PSG did manage a decent distance against Real Sociedad, and Bayern München was surprised by Lazio in Italy.
For their part, Inter held their own at home to Atletico Madrid with a minimal advantage, while Barcelona earned a draw in their visit to Napoli.

Real Madrid did not have an easy match in Germany but achieved a 1-0 victory over Leipzig despite having a lot of absentees, including their star player this season, Jude Bellingham.
The only goal came precisely through the player replacing Bellingham, midfielder Brahim Diaz, in the 48th minute after eluding an opponent and placing the ball at the far post of goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi.
The Teutons had several chances to equalize, but were ineffective at shooting and also made Andriy Lunin the MVP of the game, as he ended up making nine saves. The second leg of this series will be on March 6 at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium.

PSG’s inconsistent form made this match look tougher, but the French team made the Parc des Princes respect and beat Real Sociedad 2-0.
Striker Kylian Mbappé opened the account in the 58th minute, slapping home a cross that had been anticipated by defender Marquinhos from a corner kick. The second came from youngster Bradley Barcola in the 69th minute, thanks to an action in which he left his marker behind him on the left flank.
The result was fair as the French were the ones who tried, while it seemed that the Spaniards were looking for a goalless draw and trying to settle the series at home. The second leg will take place on March 5.

Bayern München is facing the worst moment of the season, not only because the Bundesliga is slipping away from them but also because they lost the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 1-0 to Lazio in Rome.
The German team was undoubtedly the big favorite, but in Italy, they came up against a fighting Roman team. The ever-present Ciro Immobile took advantage of a penalty by Dayot Upamecano on Felipe Anderson and, with a shot to the right post, scored the only goal of the match in the 68th minute. The French defender saw a red card in the process.
Tuchel’s men had 17 shots in the match, and none were on target, which is undoubtedly an aspect to improve for the second leg on March 5 in Munich.

The first leg of one of the most attractive round of 16 ties saw Inter beat Atletico Madrid 1-0 at the Giuseppe Meazza stadium.
Although both teams had several chances, the opening goal came in the 79th minute for the club that tried the hardest, after Marco Arnautovic, who came on for the injured Marcus Thuram, took advantage of a rebound after a shot by Lautaro Martinez and put the ball into the net.
The Colchoneros will play the second leg at home on March 13, a match that should be very close due to the style of play of both teams.

The series between Napoli and Barcelona ended 1-1 in the first round, played on Italian soil, and left many more doubts than certainties.
The season of both teams has been one to forget after being champions of their leagues last year. They hoped to get rid of the thorn in their side in the Champions League but continued to show that their level was low.
Poland’s Robert Lewandowski opened the scoring in the 60th minute with a shot that hit Alex Meret’s right post, while Victor Osimhen equalized in the 75th minute after beating Inigo Martinez and shooting from close range past Marc-André Ter Stegen.
The second leg will be played on March 12 in Catalonia and is one of the series in which there is no clear favorite.
