The last official tournament of the year, The RSM Classic, is underway, where many golfers will be looking for a victory or the points they need to secure their place on the 2026 PGA Tour. The tournament will be played from November 20 to 23 at Sea Island Golf Club, located on Saint Simons Island in Georgia. The club features two courses: the Seaside Course, a par 70 measuring 7,005 yards, and the Plantation Course, a par 72 measuring 7,160 yards.

The most recent champion is American Maverick McNealy, while Robert Streb is the only player to have won the event twice. The tournament, which began in 2010, has been won by 12 Americans, two Canadians, and one Swede, Ludvig Åberg, who also set the tournament record in 2023 with a score of 253, 29 under par. 2025 The RSM Classic Top Contenders

The main candidate to win the last tournament of the season is Harris English. The American golfer already won the 2025 Farmers Insurance Open at the beginning of the year, in January, but he is looking to claim his sixth PGA Tour title.

The season started very well for English, but he did not win any additional trophies despite coming very close in two Majors, the PGA Championship and The Open, finishing second in both behind Scottie Scheffler. He has not played since mid-September.

Brian Harman is another golfer who lifted a trophy this year. The American won the Valero Texas Open in April, earning his fourth PGA Tour title, with his most notable one obviously being The Open, which he won in 2023. This year, he finished 10th in the same Major.

He recorded two other Top 10 finishes in 2025, placing 3rd at the RBC Heritage and 8th at the Travelers Championship, but he has not played a tournament since late August, when he finished 13th at the TOUR Championship. In his favor, he has played this tournament 13 times, finishing in the Top 10 on three occasions and once as runner-up, in 2022, when he ended two shots behind Canadian Adam Svensson.

This list also includes another 2025 champion: Andrew Novak. The 30-year-old golfer is not among the favorites, but he won the Zurich Classic of New Orleans in April, earning his first PGA Tour title. A week earlier, he had lost the playoff at the RBC Heritage, and a few weeks before that, he finished third at the Valero Texas Open, making it a great month for the American.

In addition to those results, he had two more Top 10 finishes in 2025, the most recent being at the FedEx St. Jude Championship in August. He has played this tournament five times, but missed the cut in two of them, and his best performance came in 2022, when he finished 26th.

2025 The RSM Classic Outside picks

Another favorite is Danish golfer Thorbjørn Olesen. At 35 years old and after 101 tournaments, he is still searching for his first PGA Tour title, and considering that the last four champions of this event had empty trophy cabinets when they won, it is a good sign.He has three Top 10 finishes this year, the best and most recent being a third place at the Bank of Utah Championship. He is coming off a 29th-place finish at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship.

Another “Thor,” Michael Thorbjornsen, is also one of the golfers to watch. The 24-year-old American is likewise looking for his first PGA Tour title, and he has come very close this year, recording two fourth-place finishes, a third, and a runner-up result at the Corales Puntacana Championship. Last year, he played this tournament for the first time and finished eighth.

We close this group with veteran Chris Kirk, 40, who is aiming for his seventh career title and first of 2025. He already knows what it’s like to win this event, having claimed the trophy in 2013. He has three Top 10 finishes this year, including a runner-up after losing the playoff at the Rocket Classic. He has not played since August, when he posted a fifth-place and a ninth-place finish.
