Matchday 6 of the Liga MX Torneo Apertura will close this Sunday with an intriguing clash despite the gap in the standings between Atlas and Club América.
The ‘Zorros’ are on a significant negative run, with their last game ending in a 3-3 draw on the road against Querétaro.
On the other hand, the ‘Águilas’ remain unbeaten and come in motivated after a 1-3 away victory over Tigres in Monterrey.

Why Bet on Atlas?
It hasn’t been the tournament Atlas was hoping for. With five points, they sit in 15th place, having won one, drawn two, and lost two matches. While they are a team that scores a lot (10 goals), they also concede far too many (14), showing they are unbalanced.
Despite being in 15th place, their 10 goals make them the fourth-best attack. However, their 14 goals conceded make them the worst defense, having allowed goals in every match. In four of their five games, they conceded three goals, and in the one they won, they still conceded twice (2-3 vs. Puebla).
One of the team’s main problems has been closing out games. Against Cruz Azul (3-3), they conceded in the 90th minute; against Querétaro (3-3), in the 90+4 and 90+8 minutes; and against Monterrey (3-1), they allowed goals in the 82nd and 90+9 minutes. In other words, in stoppage time alone, they dropped four points across two matches.
Including the Leagues Cup, Atlas is now winless in seven games, drawing the first and the last, while losing the five in between.
Why Bet on América?
América wants to reclaim the throne that Toluca took from them last semester. With 11 points, they sit in fourth place in the Liga MX, just one point behind the leaders. They have three wins and two draws, making them, along with Cruz Azul, the only unbeaten teams.
They are coming off a big victory against Tigres, defeating them 1-3 in Monterrey with a brace from Erick Sánchez and an own goal by Nahuel Guzmán. That marked their second consecutive league win, in addition to two draws and a penalty shootout victory in the Leagues Cup.
With nine goals scored, they have the lowest tally among the top six teams; however, their four goals conceded make them the best defense. Still, despite that solid number, they have only managed to keep a clean sheet once: in their 1-0 win against Querétaro.
América’s recent star signing, Allan Saint-Maximin—who arrived from Al-Ahli after stints with Newcastle, Fenerbahce, and Monaco, among others— could make his debut this weekend.
Final Betting Analysis: Atlas vs. América
The standings clearly reflect how the tournament has gone for each side. América is built to be a champion and is proving it early on—despite not yet having all of its weapons. Atlas, on the other hand, has shown to be very vulnerable defensively, and that will cost them the match.
The odds at Gambyl Exchange favor Club América, with a Moneyline of -128, while Atlas is listed at +330, and a draw is priced at +275.
The last time they faced each other was on March 15 of this year, in this very stadium, where América won 1-3 with a brace from Rodrigo Aguirre. The ‘Águilas’ are on a four-match winning streak and remain unbeaten in seven. They haven’t lost since January 22, 2022.
Go for a win for Club América. If you bet $100 at -128, you will gain $82 for a total payout of $178.
