San Diego, with an overall record of 8-5-3, faced a tough loss, with goalkeeper CJ dos Santos making four saves. Despite initially beating Seattle 3-0, their form has slipped, while the Sounders have a 6-1-2 record since that first match against San Diego.
MLS Matchday 16 Roundup: Inter Miami vs. Montreal
Inter Miami -222 | Montreal RB +515 | Draw Offs: +420 |
Inter Miami earned a convincing 4-2 home win over the Montreal Impact, with Messi and Suarez in the spotlight.
Leo Messi and Luis Suarez each scored two goals and exchanged assists. Messi now has eight MLS goals, while Suarez, who had not scored since May 4, ended his goal drought and secured his third and fourth goals of the season.
The win helped Inter Miami bounce back in MLS after winning just one of its last eight games. However, the team finished the match with injury concerns for Jordi Alba and Gonzalo Lujan, just over two weeks before the start of the Club World Cup.
Messi opened the scoring with a left-footed goal in the 27th minute after a clever move by Sergio Busquets. This goal lifted Inter Miami, which had started the match with setbacks due to injuries to Alba and Luján. Suarez then scored twice, ending their goal drought, while Montreal managed to close the gap with a goal from Dante Sealy.
However, Messi finally sealed the victory with a well-executed left-footed tap-in. Finally, although Victor Loturi scored a late goal for Montreal, it was inconsequential in avoiding defeat.

Vancouver Whitecaps and Minnesota United played to a 0-0 draw on Wednesday at BC Place Stadium in MLS Matchday 16.
Danish coach Jesper Sørensen fielded a lineup with a mix of starters and substitutes, keeping in mind the upcoming CONCACAF Champions Cup Final against Cruz Azul. Despite 21 Vancouver shot attempts, Minnesota United goalkeeper Dayne St.Clair made crucial saves to keep the score level.
The draw did not significantly affect Vancouver Whitecaps’ position in MLS, as they currently lead the Western Conference with 32 points, 5 points ahead of San Diego FC and Minnesota United. The team’s undefeated streak of 15 matches in all competitions adds to their solid position. Their last loss was on March 22 against the Chicago Fire in MLS.
