The 25th matchday of the MLS has just wrapped up, and before we move on to the next round, it’s a great time to review the recent match results, as they may provide insights into what lies ahead.
Philadelphia is in a strong position. They lead the Eastern Conference. This is in part due to Cincinnati’s recent result against Inter Miami. While Inter Miami still has a chance to catch up, its path is now more challenging, as they have three matches left to play compared to Philadelphia.
In the Western Conference, San Diego maintains a slim 1-point lead over the Vancouver Whitecaps. Both teams secured victories in their matches, keeping them neck-and-neck at the top of the standings.
Now, let’s dive into some details as we prepare for Matchday 26.

The Columbus crew worked their way to get that single penalty goal in the 66th minute, but it seemed like Orlando City was just waiting for the home team to gas out to get back and hit strong.
The hosts may have opened the score up. However, it was the visitors who made the most out of it, as Ramiro Enrique took the opportunity to score back-to-back on the 76th and 79th minutes, with Martin Ojeda closing the deal with a third goal on the 6th minute of aggregate time to wrap up.
With the win, Orlando City sits in sixth place in the East Conference with 41 points, while Columbus Crew is in fourth place with 44 points.

San Diego and Nashville kept the party in the 0s during the first half of the match. During the second half, it was time for the Mexican National team representative, “Chucky” Lozano, to shine and give the San Diego team a goal in the 66th minute.
The home team continued to keep their opponents without options for most of the match, which allowed them to keep the lead and take the win.
San Diego sits at the top of the Western Conference with 46 points, while Nashville maintains third place in the East, three points behind league leaders Philadelphia.

This matchup featured two of the top teams in the Eastern Conference, and it was certainly an exciting game. Both teams performed well defensively, preventing each other from gaining a lead.
In the end, Philadelphia emerged as the real winner, as they were able to move ahead of Cincinnati. Meanwhile, Inter Miami also failed to secure three points, which would have brought them closer to competing for the top spot.
Although the match was active, neither team managed to break through the other’s defense, contrary to our expectations.
As mentioned before, Cincinnati dropped to second place just one point behind Philadelphia. Inter Miami is in fifth place with 42 points but has three games in hand.

Philadelphia is performing strongly, and this match was a significant milestone for them. Despite a rough start, they persevered and ultimately took the top spot on the scoreboard in an impressive comeback.
The visiting team, Colorado, opened the scoring in the 37th minute. However, Philadelphia was dominating in all areas throughout the match, a trend that became especially evident in the second half.
Colorado managed to capitalize on their only shot on target, scoring a goal, but Philadelphia was relentless, firing a total of 27 shots, with 11 of them on target.
The team scored their first goal in the 64th minute, followed by two more goals in the 89th minute and in the 5th minute of stoppage time, sealing the victory and asserting their place at the top of the leaderboard.
Philadelphia now leads the MLS Eastern Conference with 50 points, while Colorado dropped to ninth place.
