The opening week of the NBA was full of surprises, with the Boston Celtics holding a 0-3 record and the San Antonio Spurs shining with Victor Wembanyama. Now, week two begins, and here are the games you can’t miss.

As mentioned, a struggling Celtics team will visit the New Orleans Pelicans, looking to climb out of the bottom. Quite the opposite for the reigning champions, the Oklahoma City Thunder, who have had a perfect start and will face the Dallas Mavericks.

The Spurs aim to maintain their excellent start with their star player and will host the Toronto Raptors, while the Chicago Bulls will take on the Atlanta Hawks.

At Gambyl Exchange, you can explore all the predictions for the NBA, the final bets for this matchday, and the odds for each match.

The New Orleans Pelicans are living one disappointment after another. They’ve dropped two straight games to start the season, and counting last season, that makes nine consecutive losses in official matches. They came close in their previous game against the Spurs, but fell in overtime. Zion Williamson has had a strong start, averaging 27 points, 9.5 rebounds, and six assists, leading his team in all these categories.

Jayson Tatum’s injury is heavily impacting the Boston Celtics. They’ve lost their first three games, the latest against the Detroit Pistons 119-113, despite Jaylen Brown’s 41 points. The shooting guard–forward is averaging nearly 30 points per game but needs more support from his teammates. They have eight straight wins against this opponent and haven’t lost to them since 2021.

The Chicago Bulls lead the East with a 2-0 record and a +16 point differential. They first beat the Pistons at home and then the Magic on the road. Coby White remains out with a calf injury and is expected to return in a couple of weeks. In the meantime, Josh Giddey and Nikola Vucevic are forming a solid duo, but Tre Jones also deserves credit for stepping up in White’s absence.

Meanwhile, the Atlanta Hawks pulled off a surprise win over the Orlando Magic but then lost to the Raptors and Thunder. Interestingly, in all three games, the visiting team came out on top. In the last matchup against Oklahoma City, we didn’t see the best version of Trae Young, who scored just 15 points. Latvian forward Kristaps Porzingis, who only played in the season opener, is questionable due to injury.

Bulls vs. Hawks Betting Pick: Bulls

NBA Week 2: San Antonio Spurs vs. Toronto Raptors

In San Antonio, everyone is savoring the moment of Victor Wembanyama. The French giant has been one of the standout players in the NBA so far, leading his team to a 3-0 record with a +48 point differential. Wemby is dominating the blocks leaderboard, averaging an impressive 6 per game compared to the 2.3 of those trailing behind him. He’s also averaging 33.3 points and 13.3 rebounds per game.

The Toronto Raptors started the season with a win over the Hawks but then fell to the Bucks and, more recently, to the Mavericks—two games in which they were the favorites. No matter what, it’s been a good stretch for Scottie Barnes. The forward is averaging 24 points per game and is coming off a 33-point performance, while also contributing significantly in rebounds (7.3) and assists (6).

Spurs vs. Raptors Betting Pick: Spurs

NBA Week 2: Dallas Mavericks vs. Oklahoma City Thunder

Mavericks +258 Thunder -286

The post-Doncic era hasn’t been kind to the Dallas Mavericks. They started with losses to the Spurs and Wizards, but in their last game, they bounced back with a 139-129 win over the Raptors. They hadn’t scored that many points since December 15, 2024 (143), back when Luka was still around—and he dropped 45 that night. Anthony Davis has stepped up to lead the way, but he can’t do it all on his own. The power forward has scored over 20 points and grabbed at least 10 rebounds in all three games.

The reigning champions have kicked off their title defense on the right foot and are hungry for more. With a 3-0 record, the Oklahoma City Thunder are showing once again that they’re serious contenders, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is making a strong case for MVP. The Canadian star is averaging 40 points, 5.7 rebounds, and five assists per game. He’s now at 75 consecutive games scoring 20 or more points, placing him fourth on the all-time list. Oscar Robertson, with 79, is his next target, though he still has a long way to go to reach Wilt Chamberlain’s record of 126.

Mavericks vs. Thunder Betting Pick: Thunder
