Why Bet on 49ers?

The San Francisco 49ers come into this matchup sitting second in the NFC West with a 12–4 record, one game behind their opponent, and have already clinched a spot in the postseason. Their only goals now are to secure their 23rd divisional title and improve their playoff seeding.

They are riding a six-game winning streak, most recently defeating the Chicago Bears 42–38 in a terrific performance led by Brock Purdy. The quarterback completed 24 of 33 passes for 303 yards, threw three touchdown passes, added two rushing touchdowns, and was intercepted once and sacked once.

Purdy is in excellent form, having thrown 11 touchdown passes and scored two more on the ground over his last three games.In all eight games he has played this season, he has thrown at least one touchdown pass, though he is averaging more than one interception per game (9 total).

On offense, Jauan Jennings also deserves mention, as he has scored in five straight games and has eight touchdowns over his last eight outings. Christian McCaffrey has found the end zone in six consecutive games, totaling nine touchdowns over that span. This season, the running back has 10 rushing touchdowns and seven receiving touchdowns. He ranks third in carries (303) and eighth in rushing yards (1,179).

One area Kyle Shanahan will need to address is the defense, which has underperformed this season. The 49ers boast a strong offense, but a defense that has been more than just below average.

The Seattle Seahawks are close to securing their first divisional title since 2020 and the 10th in franchise history, as well as the No. 1 seed in the entire conference. They currently lead the NFC West with a 13–3 record, although one of their losses came against this same opponent in Week 1, and at home.

They are riding an excellent run of six straight wins. On the road, they have earned the label of the best team in the conference, winning six of seven away contests.

They are coming off a 27–10 win over the Carolina Panthers, with two rushing touchdowns from Zac Charbonnet and one receiving touchdown from tight end AJ Barner.

Sam Darnold completed 18 of 27 passes for 147 yards, threw one touchdown, one interception, and was sacked three times. The quarterback has not been at his best this season and has experienced plenty of ups and downs. With 14 interceptions, he ranks third-most in the league, behind only Geno Smith (17) and Tua Tagovailoa (15). He has also thrown for 3,850 yards and 25 touchdown passes, though only three have come in his last three games.

Wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba caught nine passes for 72 yards, bringing his season totals to 113 receptions (fourth in the NFL) and 1,709 receiving yards (first in the NFL). He did not score and has just one touchdown in his last three games, but has 10 on the season and remains a key weapon.

Seattle boasts a stronger defense than their opponent, and that is where it will try to make the difference. Offensively, the matchup can be considered fairly even, with a slight edge tilting toward San Francisco.

It should be a great matchup between two teams that are already headed to the postseason and are fighting for the divisional title and better seeding. Brock Purdy has been playing at a very high level in recent weeks, something that cannot be said about Sam Darnold, and we believe that will be the key difference in determining the winner.

The numbers at Gambyl Exchange list the Seahawks as the favorites, with a Moneyline of -120, while the 49ers are priced at +100.

The last time these teams met was on September 7 of this year, in Week 1, when the 49ers earned a 17–13 road victory. San Francisco has won seven of the last eight meetings, although Seattle still leads the all-time series 31–24.
