Why Bet on Commanders?

The Washington Commanders were hoping to keep building after a strong 2024, but instead went in the opposite direction, partly due to Jayden Danielsโ€™ injury. With a 4โ€“11 record, they rank above only the New York Giants (2โ€“13) in the division and will look to give their fans the best possible farewell to the season.

The Giants account for 50% of Washingtonโ€™s wins, as the Commanders beat them twice, most recently on December 14, snapping an eight-game losing streak. This past weekend, however, Washington lost again, this time falling 29โ€“18 to the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Commanders were leading 10โ€“7, but the injury to Marcus Mariota hurt them significantly. Josh Johnson stepped in, but the teamโ€™s third-string quarterback had not seen meaningful action in an official game since January 29, 2023.

Johnson completed five of nine passes for 43 yards, threw one interception, and was sacked once. He is set to start at quarterback this Thursday, something he has not done since December 26, 2021.

After Mariotaโ€™s injury, Washington managed to score again with 1:10 remaining on a Chris Rodrรญguez Jr. rushing touchdown.

Defensively, they failed to intercept Jalen Hurts and allowed Saquon Barkley to rush for 132 yards on 21 carries. Bobby Wagner stood out on that side of the ball with 10 combined tackles and one sack.

Why Bet on Cowboys?

The Dallas Cowboys had a chance to fight for a postseason spot, but three straight lossesโ€”two of them at homeโ€”have buried those hopes. They now hold a 6โ€“8โ€“1 record, and it is impossible for them to catch the Green Bay Packers, who sit seventh in the conference at 9โ€“5โ€“1.

On Sunday, the Cowboys fell at home to the Los Angeles Chargers, losing 34โ€“17 after holding a 17โ€“14 lead. From that point on, everything unraveled as they allowed the visitors to score two touchdowns and two field goals.

Dak Prescott completed 21 of 30 passes for 244 yards and two touchdown throws, without an interception and with just one sack taken. The quarterback ranks second in the league in passing yards (4,175) and leads the NFL in pass attempts (552).

George Pickens and Ryan Flournoy scored the touchdowns, but the defense did little to support the offense. Dallas failed to record an interception or a sack against Justin Herbert, while rookie Shavon Revel Jr. led the team in tackles with nine, marking the most productive game of his young career.

Final Betting Analysis: Commanders vs. Cowboys

Two eliminated teams with absolutely nothing at stake. Despite their poor finish to the season, the Dallas Cowboys showed some positive signs throughout the year and still have a strong quarterback in Dak Prescott, while Washington will be starting their third-string quarterback. The win should go to the visitors.

The numbers at Gambyl Exchange list the Cowboys as the favorites, with a Moneyline of -265, while the Commanders are priced at +215.

The last time these two teams met was on October 19 of this year, when Dallas won 44โ€“22. Playing on the road against this opponent, the Cowboys have won three of the last four meetings, and the overall series history also favors them with 80 wins, 49 losses, and two ties.

Go for a win for the Cowboys. If you bet $100 at -265, you will gain $38 for a total payout of $138.
