Why Bet on the Pittsburgh Steelers?
The Pittsburgh Steelers hold a 2-1 record this season, sitting second in the AFC North. Interestingly, they lost their only home game but won both on the road.
Last weekend, they defeated the Patriots 14–21 thanks to a Calvin Austin touchdown with just over two minutes left to play.
It was a good afternoon for Aaron Rodgers, who completed 16 of 23 passes for 139 yards and two touchdowns. One was caught by Austin, and the other by DK Metcalf. Running back Kenneth Gainwell added another score on the ground.
Defensively, Pittsburgh did what they do best: hit hard. They sacked Drake Maye five times, showcasing one of the team’s main strengths that they’ll aim to exploit again this Sunday. Linebacker T.J. Watt recorded two sacks, while Brandin Echols came away with an interception.
The Steelers already know what it’s like to play and win in this stadium, as they faced the Chicago Bears here in a 1997 preseason game and won 30–17.
Why Bet on the Minnesota Vikings?
The Minnesota Vikings were stunned in their home opener against the Atlanta Falcons, losing 6–22, but last weekend they bounced back in a big way, crushing the Cincinnati Bengals 48–10 to move to 2-1 and draw level with the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions in the NFC North.
Quarterback J.J. McCarthy remains sidelined with an ankle sprain, and his replacement, Carson Wentz, already showed his effectiveness against the Bengals. He completed 14 of 20 passes for 173 yards and two touchdowns, scored by tight ends T.J. Hockenson and Josh Oliver.
On the ground, Jordan Mason stood out. Last Sunday, he had 16 carries for 116 yards and two touchdowns—his first of the season and his first as a Viking.
Minnesota also impressed defensively, registering three sacks for a loss of 20 yards against the Bengals, two of them by Andrew Van Ginkel, along with two interceptions. Isaiah Rodgers returned 86 yards for a touchdown. Rodgers was unstoppable, also recovering a fumble and returning it 69 yards for another touchdown. It was just the fourth touchdown of his career and the first time he’s scored twice in a single game.
Kicker Will Reichard also shone, hitting two field goals, including a 62-yarder.
The Vikings will now play back-to-back games outside the United States. After this matchup in Dublin, they’ll head to London the following weekend. They will be the first club in NFL history to play in two different countries (that are not the US) with just one week difference.
Final Betting Analysis: Steelers vs. Vikings
Dublin makes its NFL debut with a great matchup between two teams with the same record, and both coming off wins. What Wentz and the Vikings showed last weekend was impressive, and that’s why we believe they’ll come away with the victory.
The numbers at Gambyl Exchange have the Vikings as the favorite, with their Moneyline at -150, while the Steelers are listed at +125.
The last time these two teams met was on December 9, 2021, when the Vikings won at home 36–28. Throughout history, this has proven to be a very even series. After 19 games, Minnesota holds the edge with a 10–9 record.
The Vikings’ record in international games is 4-0, while the Steelers lost the only game they’ve ever played outside the United States—and it was precisely against Minnesota. That game ended 34–27 on September 29, 2013, at Wembley Stadium in London.
Go for a win for the Vikings. If you bet $100 at -150, you will gain $67 for a total payout of $167.
