Why Bet on the Eagles?

This season, the Philadelphia Eagles did not look as dominant as they did last year, but they still managed to secure the division title. Their 11โ€“6 record earned them the third seed in the conference.

They are coming off a 24โ€“17 loss to the Washington Commanders, though they rested most of their regular starters. Before that, they were riding a three-game winning streak, bouncing back from a rough stretch of three consecutive losses.

Jalen Hurts finished the regular season completing 294 of 454 passes for a 64.8% completion rate. He totaled 3,224 passing yards, 25 touchdowns, six interceptions, and was sacked 32 times. He also led the team in rushing touchdowns with eight.

One of the main reasons the Eagles have not been as strong as last season lies in their running game, specifically with Saquon Barkley. Last year, the running back logged 345 carries for 2,005 yards and 13 touchdowns. This season, he had 280 carries for 1,140 yards and just seven touchdowns. The positive note is that he scored in three of his last four games.

This is especially important considering the Eagles are a run-first team. They ranked ninth in fewest passing attempts (497) and fifth in fewest completed passes (318).

On the defensive side, linebacker Zack Baun has been the teamโ€™s standout player, leading the Eagles in solo tackles (64) and assisted tackles (59), while also recording 3.5 sacks and two interceptions.

Why Bet on the 49ers?

The San Francisco 49ers are paying a high price for their loss to the Seattle Seahawks. With a 12โ€“5 record, they finished third in the NFC West and sixth in the conference, but a win in that final game would have earned them the No. 1 seed in the NFC.

Despite having home-field advantage, they delivered a subpar performance, failing to score a single touchdown and losing 3โ€“13, which ended their six-game winning streak. Brock Purdy completed 19 of 27 passes for 127 yards and was intercepted once. It marked the first time this season that he did not throw a touchdown pass, after recording 11 over his previous three games.

Purdy finished the regular season having played nine games, completing 197 of 284 passes with 20 touchdown passes, 10 interceptions, and 11 sacks, while also adding three rushing touchdowns.

The most important offensive player was Christian McCaffrey, who bounced back strongly from an injury that had essentially sidelined him last season. He was one of the leagueโ€™s top running backs, recording 311 carries for 1,202 yards and 10 touchdowns, and he was also the teamโ€™s most heavily used receiver with 102 catches, adding seven receiving touchdowns.

Through the air, alongside McCaffrey, Jauan Jennings stood out with nine touchdowns, as did George Kittle, who scored seven times in 11 games.

Final Betting Analysis: Eagles vs. 49ers

The 49ers left a poor impression in their last game, and it remains unclear whether they are ready for another do-or-die matchup this weekend. The Eagles, on the other hand, will be playing at home, are well-rested, and come in with strong momentum. It wonโ€™t be an easy task, but Philadelphia is expected to come away with the win.

The numbers at Gambyl Exchange list the Eagles as the favorites, with their Moneyline at -250, while the 49ers are priced at +205.

The last time these two teams faced off was on December 3, 2023, when the 49ers won 19โ€“42 on the road behind four touchdown passes from Purdy. The all-time series favors San Francisco with 21 wins, 15 losses, and one tie, while they are split 1โ€“1 in postseason meetings.

Go for a win for the Eagles. If you bet $100 at -250, you will gain $40 for a total payout of $140.
