The Raiders visit the Texans in NFL Week 16, with Houston chasing playoff seeding and Las Vegas looking to spoil the race.

The Houston Texans remain in the fight to secure a spot in the postseason and, why not, challenge for the divisional title, and they will have a great opportunity to stay on that path when they host the Las Vegas Raiders in NFL Week 16.

The Texans are in excellent form, coming off an impressive 40โ€“20 victory over the Arizona Cardinals last weekend.

Meanwhile, the Raiders suffered yet another loss, this time being embarrassed by the Philadelphia Eagles, who shut them out 31โ€“0.

Why Bet on the Texans?

The Houston Texans are in excellent form and full of optimism about reaching the postseason. They hold a 9โ€“5 record, sitting seventh in the conference and second in the AFC South, just one game behind the Jacksonville Jaguars (10โ€“4), who will face the Denver Broncos this weekend.

They are riding a six-game winning streak, something they had not done since 2018, when they won nine in a row. Last Sunday, they defeated the Arizona Cardinals 40โ€“20. C.J. Stroud completed 22 of 29 passes for 260 yards and three touchdown passes, was not intercepted, and was sacked only once. It marked his second straight game without an interception, and he has been picked off just once over the last four games.

Nico Collins caught two touchdown passes, with Dalton Schultz adding another through the air, while Woody Marks scored on the ground. The running back suffered an ankle knock and did not finish the game, but it does not appear to be serious, and he is expected to be available on Sunday.

Jawhar Jordan carried the load in the running game, making a strong impression in his first appearance with 15 carries for 101 yards, including a 50-yard runโ€”the longest by the team this season and the longest ever by a debutant in franchise history. He also added two receptions for 17 yards, showing his versatility as a weapon. Jordan was selected by the Texans in the sixth round (205th overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft.

On defense, Kamari Lassiter recorded an interception, adding to the teamโ€™s total of 16 on the season, which ranks fourth-highest in the league.

Why Bet on the Raiders?

The Las Vegas Raiders suffered yet another humiliation, being shut out by the Philadelphia Eagles in a 31โ€“0 loss. It was the second time this season they failed to score in a game, and both shutouts ended by the same margin.

With a 2โ€“12 record, the Raiders sit at the bottom of their division, the conference, and the entire league, alongside the Tennessee Titans and the New York Giants. They are currently on an eight-game losing streak.

Against the Eagles, they allowed a touchdown in every quarterโ€”three of them through the airโ€”while failing to intercept Jalen Hurts, who completed 12 of 15 passes.

On the offensive side, the quarterback was Kenny Pickett, who completed 15 of 25 passes for a staggering total of just 64 yards, an average of 2.6 yards per attempt. He threw one interception and was sacked four times.

Geno Smith appears to have recovered from his injuries and knocks and is expected to return this Sunday.

Devin White recorded 16 combined tackles in the game and now has 149 on the season, ranking second in the entire league behind Jordyn Brooks (155).

Final Betting Analysis: Texans vs. Raiders

There is no doubt that the Texans should win this game. Not only are they playing well and C.J. Stroud is performing at a very high level, but the Raiders have been dreadful, compounded by the uncertainty over which of three quarterbacks will start.

The numbers at Gambyl Exchange list the Texans as the favorites, with a Moneyline of -952, while the Raiders are priced at +625.

The last time these teams met was on October 23, 2022, when the Raiders won 38โ€“20. When playing in Houston, the Texans have won the last two meetings and have not lost at home to Las Vegas since 2013.

Go for a win for the Texans. If you bet $100 at -952, you will gain $11 for a total payout of $111.
