Why Bet on Parma?

Last season, Parma fought to avoid relegation until the final week, and that’s a feeling they don’t want to repeat. Their mission is to fight for European spots; however, their debut was not as expected.

They fell 2-0 away to Juventus in a match where they had only 36% possession and just one shot on target. Some of the new faces made their debuts, such as Argentine Christian Ordoñez and Danish midfielder Oliver Sorensen, although they still have much more to prove.

Croatian striker Matija Frigan, for whom they paid nearly $12 million to KVC Westerlo in Belgium, debuted in the Coppa Italia but has yet to feature in Serie A.

Spaniard Carlos Cuesta is experiencing his first job as a head coach after managing Atlético Madrid and Juventus youth teams, and serving as Mikel Arteta’s assistant coach.

In this transfer window, they lost important players such as defender Giovanni Leoni (Liverpool), midfielders Simon Sohm (Fiorentina) and Dennis Man (PSV), and striker Ange-Yoan Bonny (Inter), who was their top scorer in the league last season.

On top of those departures, they also have Jacob Ondrejka injured, one of the club’s stars who scored five goals in the last seven games of last season.

Why Bet on Atalanta?

Atalanta were one of the standouts of last season’s tournament, even sitting at the top of the table for a while. However, a slump of negative results took away their chance to fight for the title until the end, and they finished third.

In their first match, they disappointed with a 1-1 draw against Pisa, one of the newly promoted teams. Striker Gianluca Scamacca, who last season only played 13 minutes due to injury, scored the goal and hopes to contribute much more this year.

Scamacca’s return is celebrated almost like a new signing, especially after Mateo Retegui’s move to Saudi football. Meanwhile, the true new faces are Ghanaian forward Kamaldeen Sulemana, arriving from Southampton, Macedonian striker Nikola Krstovic from Lecce, and Polish midfielder Nicola Zalewski, who was previously at Inter.

Final Betting Analysis: Parma vs. Atalanta

Based on what we saw in the first matchday and the level of the squads, we believe one team will be fighting against relegation and the other will be competing for European spots, just like last season. Atalanta showed better things and have stronger players, especially in attack, so we believe they will come out as winners.

The odds at Gambyl Exchange favor Atalanta, with a Moneyline of +108, while Parma are at +290, and a draw is at +259.

The last time they played was on May 25 of this year, on the final matchday, and Parma won 2-3 away to secure their survival. They had gone down 2-0 with a Daniel Maldini brace, but came back in the second half with an Ondrejka goal in stoppage time.

As a curiosity, the last three games have gone in favor of the away side, and that aforementioned Parma victory ended Atalanta’s streak of seven consecutive wins.

Go for a win for Atalanta. If you bet $100 at +108, you will win $108 for a total payout of $208.
