The second matchday of the Italian Serie A seemed to go almost according to plan when it came to the usual top teams, except for one of them, as their match gave the fans the biggest surprise of the night.

Thanks to the results in the first two matchdays, Napoli and Juventus are fighting for the top spot, keeping a perfect score with three goals and clean sheets so far. Now they have to worry less about a difficult opponent for a little bit, while the season gets on track.

One more that remains unbeaten, with their momentum going up, but things are way more interesting right now, as we believe there might be more surprises along the way in this season of the Italian Serie A. Serie A Matchday 2 Roundup: Lecce vs. Milan

Milan took their time to break Lecce, but the numbers on the stats show a significant superiority from the visitors, who decided to keep breaking their opponents’ step by step until they had the chance to do all the damage in the second half.

It took Milan until the 66th minute to score the first goal. However, it was followed by another 20 minutes later, not only putting them way ahead, but also breaking down the hosts’ spirits and allowing for a comfortable victory.

One would think that Napoli wouldn’t have any issue dealing with Cagliari during their Serie A matchday 2, but even though the home team more than doubled their opponent’s possession time, shots, passes, and shots on target, things were a lot closer than one would’ve expected.

Statistically, the results of the two teams were quite similar; however, Juventus excelled in their passing game, which helped them maintain control and capitalize on their opportunity. Dusan Vlahovic scored the only goal in the 73rd minute, putting Juventus ahead and allowing them to secure three points with their lead.

This match surprised everyone. It began as expected, with Inter looking strong and scoring a goal in the 17th minute. However, despite their dominance, they conceded a penalty shot to Udinese in the 29th minute, which Keinan Davis converted successfully.

While the hosts maintained 68% possession throughout the match, the visitors were far more effective with their opportunities. Udinese scored their second goal in the 40th minute and managed to keep their defense tight, ultimately finishing the game with a 2-1 lead, achieving a significant upset of the weekend.
