The time has come to know the new champion of Liga MX. Two teams rose above the rest and won their place in the grand final of the Apertura 2022 Tournament; one that will be unprecedented in the history of Mexican soccer, as it will be between Pachuca and Toluca. None other than the clubs that have won the most championships in Liga MX; since the beginning of the short tournament era in 1996.
The road to reaching this great final has not been easy for either of the two teams. They have had to eliminate complicated teams such as Juárez, Santos, and América in the case of Toluca, as well as Tigres UANL and Monterrey on the part of Pachuca, so the last series of 2022 in Mexican soccer will face two very similar styles that are characterized by being purely offensive, and which will be led by Ignacio Ambriz and Guillermo Almada.
Thanks to the aforementioned offensive power, we expect this Liguilla final to be full of goals. In addition, Toluca did not have an impeccable defense in this opening tournament.

As has been the custom since the creation of short tournaments in Liga MX, the grand final will not be played as a single match but will follow a round-robin format in which Toluca and Pachuca will have to leave everything on the field to win the championship trophy in this Apertura 2022 Tournament.
The first leg of the Liga MX final will be this Thursday, October 27, 2022, at the Nemesio Diez Stadium, home of Toluca, at 4:00 pm ET.

Toluca holds the upper hand against the Tuzos, having won 25 of the 62 games they have played, losing 19, and drawing the remaining 28. In addition, the Diablos Rojos scored 10 more goals than their rivals in those matches.
