Victorio Saludar<\/strong>\u00a0is a Filipino professional boxer <\/a>born on November 3rd, 1990.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He has held the\u00a0WBA\u00a0<\/strong>(Regular)\u00a0mini-flyweight<\/strong>\u00a0title since February 2021. Previously, he held the\u00a0WBO <\/a>mini-flyweight<\/strong>\u00a0title from 2018 to 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saludar <\/strong>was a successful amateur. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He’s a six-time national amateur champion in the flyweight division<\/strong>. Also, he won a bronze medal at the 2010 Asian Games, after losing in the semifinals to Birzhan Zhakypov<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boxing Profile \u2013 Victorio Saludar \u2013 Professional Career<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Debut and early Carrer:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Saludar <\/strong>made his professional debut against Juanito Hundante<\/strong> on July 13, 2013. He won the fight by a first-round technical knockout. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He amassed an 11-1 record during the next two years, most notably defeating Rizky Pratama <\/strong>by a first-round technical knockout to win the vacant WBO <\/strong>Asia Pacific mini-flyweight title<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WBO Mini-Flyweight champion:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Saludar vs. Yamanaka<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Saludar <\/strong>had to challenge the reigning WBO mini flyweight champion, Ryuya Yamanaka<\/strong>, in the latter’s second title defense. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fight had to be on July 13, 2018, at the Central Gym in Kobe, Japan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saludar <\/strong>was at the time the #3 WBO mini flyweight<\/strong> contender in the ranks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He won the fight by unanimous decision. However, he knocked Yamanaka <\/strong>with a straight right in the seventh round and had; by the end of the bout, opened a cut above Yamanaka’s <\/strong>left eye.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saludar vs. Taniguchi<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Saludar <\/strong>made his first WBO mini flyweight<\/strong> title defense against Masataka Taniguchi<\/strong> on February 26, 2019, at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He won the fight by a wide unanimous decision, with two judges scoring the fight 117-111 in his favor, while the third judge awarded him a 118-110 scorecard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saludar vs. Mendez<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Saludar <\/strong>made his second WBO title<\/strong> defense against Wilfredo M\u00e9ndez <\/strong>on August 24, 2019, at the Puerto Rico Convention Center in San Juan, Puerto Rico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was seen as the favorite to retain the title when the bout was first scheduled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saludar <\/strong>entered the bout without his usual cornermen, as his coach Jojo Palacios was unable to secure a working visa while his manager Kenneth Rondal was forced to stay in the Philippines due to his father’s recent brain surgery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mendez <\/strong>won the fight by unanimous decision, with scores of 117-110, 115-112, 116-111.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WBO Regular Champion<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Saludar vs. Kinaadman<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Saludar <\/strong>was scheduled to face Mike Kinaadman<\/strong> in his first post-title fight, which was scheduled for December 21, 2019, and was held at the Enan Chiong Activity Center in Naga, Philippines. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He suffered a flash knockdown in the first round. But quickly rebounded to stop Kinaadman <\/strong>by knockout in the sixth round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saludar vs. Paradero<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Saludar <\/strong>was scheduled to face Robert Paradero<\/strong> for the vacant WBA Regular mini-flyweight <\/strong>title on February 19, 2021, at the Bi\u00f1an Football Stadium in Bi\u00f1an, Philippines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
