All the most important sporting events in the world of surfing<\/a> continue; the\u00a0Ballito Pro Presented by O’Neill<\/strong>, which is one of the oldest surfing tournaments in the world. Traditionally this event is in June. However, due to the\u00a0Covid-19\u00a0<\/strong>pandemic, it had to move and will take place from December 15-19, 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\u00a0Ballito Pro Presented by O’Neill<\/strong>\u00a0is an event that will host and showcase all surfing fans in the world; the best male, female, and youth surfers from the\u00a0WSL <\/a>and Surfing South Africa<\/strong>. This event will take place at\u00a0Willard Beach<\/strong>\u00a0in the city of\u00a0KwaDukuza<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Male surfers will have the QS5000<\/strong>, female QS1000<\/strong> and the South African Surf Championship<\/strong> will be held.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notable surfers include two-time local men’s champion Jordy Smith<\/strong> and women’s champion Sarah Baum<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Jordy Smith<\/strong> is a 33-year-old South African<\/strong> surfer who is ranked # 7 in the World Top on the WSL Championship Tour<\/strong>. Smith<\/strong> has been a very successful surfer from his beginnings as a professional; in each of the events he participates in, makes clear the great ability that he must ride the waves. This 2021 he has had 2 tournaments in which he has done an excellent role; in the Boost Mobile Margaret River Pro presented by Corona<\/strong>, in which he finished in second place. Later, the Billabong Pipe Masters was presented by Hydro Flask<\/strong>, finishing in fifth place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Shane Sykes<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      While Shane Sykes<\/strong> has not had a very good 2021 year, so he comes to this event with the firm conviction of having good records again and trying to enter the Championship Tour<\/strong>. Her best appearances this season in the Women\u2019s Qualifying Series<\/strong> are fifth place in the Sisstrevolution Central Coast Pro<\/strong> and ninth place in the Nissan Super Girl Surf Pro<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        • Zo\u00eb Steyn<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

          Finally, we have one of the promising South African<\/strong> surfers, Zoe Steyn<\/strong>, who at just 18 years old is competing in professional competitions. This is not a surprise, since 2017, it has been among the best in its country. The year 2021 for Steyn<\/strong> has been inactive and this will be her first event in the Women\u2019s Junior Tour<\/strong> category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
