Miguel Arturo Lay\u00fan Prado <\/strong>is a Mexican soccer player who was born in C\u00f3rdoba, Veracruz<\/strong>, on June 25, 1988. He plays in the left-back position and, after passing through the most important leagues in the world; currently, plays with the Club America<\/strong> of the Mexican soccer league<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lay\u00fan’s First Years<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Miguel Lay\u00fan <\/strong>saw his beginnings as a professional footballer in the quarries of the Tiburones Rojos de Veracruz<\/strong>. In 2007 he made his debut in a league match against Necaxa<\/strong> in a match that ended in draw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First European Experience<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

After two years and showing great performance in his position; Miguel Lay\u00fan<\/strong> managed to sign a contract with Atalanta<\/strong> in Italian football; thus becoming the first Mexican player to play for Calcio<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After one season, Lay\u00fan<\/strong> returned to Mexican<\/strong> soccer, where he was until 2014 in America<\/strong>, a team with which he managed to lift a championship trophy in the 2013 closing and, in the 2014 opening tournament. His most notable achievement, offensively speaking, was the 4 goals that Lay\u00fan<\/strong> scored as a midfielder against Santos Laguna<\/strong>, in a match of the 2014 opening tournament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Miguel Lay\u00fan<\/strong>‘s\u00a0Second European Experience<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In 2015, Miguel Lay\u00fan<\/strong> was signed again by a European<\/strong> team, in this case, Watford<\/strong> in England<\/strong>, a team that at that time was a member of the second division of English football. At the end of that season, his team won promotion to the first division or the Premier League <\/strong>and made his debut against Everton <\/strong>on August 8, 2015, scoring a goal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just 2 weeks later, Watford would loan Lay\u00fan <\/strong>to FC Porto<\/strong>, with a purchase option, for one season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2015-2016 season has been the most special and important in Miguel Lay\u00fan’s <\/strong>career, since, with FC Porto<\/strong>, he managed to play in the UEFA Champions League<\/strong>, score goals, and be a key player in several games throughout the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2018, everything was ready for Miguel Lay\u00fan <\/strong>to formalize his signing for Real Betis <\/strong>of the Spanish League<\/strong>, but he was finally sold to Sevilla<\/strong>. There he played a total of 18 games and scored 2 goals. At the end of this season, Lay\u00fan <\/strong>played a year at Villarreal<\/strong>, where he did not have good performances, which made it difficult for him to not think about returning to football in his country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Return to America<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In January 2019, Lay\u00fan<\/strong> returns to Mexico<\/strong> but this time to Monterrey<\/strong>, a team with which he played only 1 season, where he participated in19 games with 1 goal scored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for the Mexican national team, Miguel Lay\u00fan<\/strong> has been part of the starting lineup of the two teams that took to the World Cup Brazil 2014<\/strong> and Russia 2018<\/strong>. In total, he has played 8 games in the World Cup<\/strong>, where he has not managed to score goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
