Rafael Souza dos Anjos<\/strong> is a Brazilian-American professional mixed martial artist born on October 26, 1984. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He currently fights in the Lightweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC<\/a><\/strong>), where he is a former\u00a0UFC\u00a0<\/strong>Lightweight Champion.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He has also competed at Welterweight. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of November 2, 2021, he is #6 in the UFC <\/strong>lightweight rankings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He won the fight via unanimous decision (30\u201327, 30\u201327, and 29\u201328).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dos Anjos vs. Magny<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Rafael Dos Anjos<\/strong> faced Neil Magny <\/strong>on September 9, 2017, at UFC 215.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He won the fight via arm-triangle choke submission in the first round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He won the fight by unanimous decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dos Anjos vs. Covington<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Rafael <\/strong>fought Colby Covington<\/strong> on June 9, 2018, at UFC 225 for the Interim UFC Welterweight Championship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He lost the fight by unanimous decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dos Anjos vs. Usman<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Rafael <\/strong>faced Kamaru Usman<\/strong> on November 30, 2018, at The Ultimate Fighter 28 Finale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rafael Dos Anjos<\/strong> faced Kevin Lee <\/strong>in Lee’s welterweight debut at UFC Fight Night 152 on May 18, 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dos Anjos vs. Michael Chiesa<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Dos Anjos<\/strong> later faced Michael Chiesa<\/strong> on January 25, 2020, at UFC Fight Night 166.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He lost the fight via unanimous decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Return to Lightweight<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Dos Anjos<\/strong> had to face Islam Makhachev<\/strong> on October 24, 2020, in his return to the lightweight division at UFC 254.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, on October 8, 2020, it was reported that Dos Anjos<\/strong> tested positive for COVID-19 and he was removed from the bout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pairing was left intact and rescheduled for November 14, 2020, at UFC Fight Night. (Which became Felder vs. dos Anjos.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, on November 8, it was reported that Makhachev <\/strong>was forced to pull from the event due to injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On a quick turnaround, it was announced Paul Felder<\/strong> stepped up to replace Makhachev <\/strong>on five days’ notice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Simultaneously, Dos Anjos<\/strong> signed a new six-fight contract with the UFC <\/strong>and committed to compete in the lightweight division.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dos Anjos<\/strong> went on to defeat Felder <\/strong>via split decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
