Islam Makhachev<\/strong> is a Russian professional mixed martial artist and former Sambo competitor born on September 27th, 1991, who currently competes in the lightweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC<\/strong>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Makhachev <\/strong>was the combat sambo world champion at 74 kilograms in 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He grew up with Khabib Nurmagomedov<\/strong> and still trains with him to this day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of November 2, 2021, he is #4 in the UFC <\/strong>lightweight rankings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
