The Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics <\/strong>are already underway, where the best athletes in the world in these beautiful disciplines gathered to prove their worth and leave the name of their countries as high as possible.

The main mission of the Latin American <\/strong>countries in these Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics<\/a> <\/strong>is; without a doubt, to win a medal, be it gold, silver, or bronze. It is an extremely complex mission; because the culture of winter sports in Latin countries is not as extensive as in Europa, Asia and USA<\/strong>.

But, we trust that the claw of our Latin blood comes out and we can tell the world that; although we are not a power in these sports, we will always be present to give our best.

So far in the Olympics<\/a><\/strong>, we have a domain of the favorite teams to win medals in the different disciplines. Next, we will see how the TOP 10 <\/strong>of the Olympic<\/strong> medal table is at the moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although throughout the history of the Winter Olympics, Latin American<\/strong> countries have not had outstanding participation in the medal table, we can point out that all the athletes arrive with excellent preparation and are willing to leave the name of each of the countries they represent at the top.

Next, we will observe how the participation of Latin American athletes<\/strong> by country has been, at the start of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Argentina<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Until now, Argentina <\/strong>has counted on the participation of Veronica Maria Ravenna <\/strong>in the Luge<\/strong> discipline; wherein her first presentation on February 3, she finished in position #14 with a time of 1:00:979.

After the first test, Ravenna<\/strong> tried again and was unable to improve her time and finished #15 with a time of 1:01:374. In heat 3, Ravenna<\/strong> wanted to try her luck again; but despite improving her first two records, she couldn’t get beyond #13.

Finally, in heat 5, Veronica<\/strong> managed to have a personal best result in time, with 1:00:504, but she finished in the #23 position.

The athlete Francesca Baruzzi Farriol <\/strong>made her debut on February 5th in the Alpine Olympic Skiing<\/strong>, where after two attempts, she finished in the #29 position with times of 1:02:43 and 1:01:57.

While on the part of the male representation, Franco del Farra <\/strong>in the Olympic Cross-Country Sk<\/strong>i finished the race 1 lap behind the leader of the competition.

Argentina<\/strong> continued its participation earlier this week. Starting with Nahaira Diaz<\/strong> in the discipline of Olympic Cross-Country Skiing<\/strong>, which finished in the #83 position.

On the same day, in the same discipline but the men’s category, we have Franco del Farra<\/strong>. He finished in position #74, with a time of 24.92 seconds above the leader.

While in the Olympic Luge<\/strong>, Veronica Ravenna<\/strong> managed to be in position #24, with a time of 2:59.310.

Finally, in the Olympic Alpine Skiing<\/strong>, Francesca Baruzzi<\/strong> could not finish the competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Update<\/strong><\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Argentinean team continued with its progress in these Olympic Winter Games<\/strong>, with Francesca Baruzzi <\/strong>in Olympic Alpine Skiing<\/strong>. She managed to finish in 29th place with a time of 1:16:65, 3.14 seconds more than the first place.

They also counted with the participation of Franco Dal Farra<\/strong>, in the Olympic Cross-Country Skiing<\/strong>, getting position #86.

In the Men’s Olympic Alpine Skiing<\/strong>, Tomas Birkner <\/strong>could not finish the competition in any of the two opportunities he had.

While Maria Victoria Rodriguez <\/strong>finished in the last place of her competition in the Olympic Speed Skating<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bolivia<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Bolivia<\/strong> has only had the participation of Simon Breitfuss Kammerlander<\/strong>, who after 3 rounds of training in the alpine Olympic Ski discipline<\/strong>, obtained his best result in the third and last round of training, where he ranked #47 and finished with a time of 1:47.75, a total of 4.03 seconds more than the first place.

In the official competition for Olympic Alpine Skiing medals<\/strong>, Simon<\/strong> managed to finish #34 in the standings; with a time of 1:48.26, 5.57 seconds more than the gold medal winner, the Swiss Beat FEUZ<\/strong>.

In the discipline of Olympic Alpine Skiing<\/strong>, the Bolivian Simon Breitfuss<\/strong> only managed to finish 1 of the tests; but it was not enough and he could not finish the race, for which he was disqualified from this competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Update<\/strong><\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Bolivia’s<\/strong> only participation in recent days has been with Timo Gronlund<\/strong>, who finished in 89th place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brazil<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The first presentation of Brazil<\/strong> in these Olympic Winter Games<\/strong> has been through Manex Silva<\/strong> in the discipline of Cross-Country Olympic Skiing<\/strong>, where, in the competition for medals, he could not have a good race and finished almost in the last position.

On the other hand, the athlete Nicole Rocha Silveira<\/strong> has participated twice in training in the Olympic Skeleton<\/strong> discipline, in series 1 she finished in fourth place in the classification, with a time of 1:02.47. While in heat 2, she dropped to sixth in the standings, with a time of 1:02.81, just 0.63 seconds more than the leader, Dan Zhao<\/strong>, from China.

The athlete who has been most active these days in Brazil<\/strong> is, without a doubt, Nicole Silveira<\/strong>, in the Olympic Skeleton<\/strong> discipline, who, after 4 official practices, managed to obtain her best day in practice 5 where she came in ninth place, with a time of 1:02.29.

In the Olympic Cross-Country Skiing<\/strong>, Brazil<\/strong> had the participation of two of its athletes, Jaqueline Mourao and Eduarda Ribera<\/strong>, who was ranked #84 and 88, respectively, with extremely superior times to the leader, the Swedish Jonna Sundling<\/strong>.

While in the men’s branch, in the Olympic Cross-Country Skiing<\/strong>, Manex Silva<\/strong> finished in position #71.

In the Olympic Skeleton<\/strong>, Nicole Rocha<\/strong> finished in 12th place in Series 1. While in Series 2, she finished in the #14 position.

In the Olympic Bobsleigh<\/strong>, Edson Bindilatti<\/strong> finished the competition in the #27 place, with a time of 1:01.41. He then tried again and finished in the #29 position.

Manex Silva<\/strong> tried again in the Olympic Cross-Country Skiing<\/strong> and finished in the #90 position; with 12:40.3 seconds more than the first place of the competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last Days<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Nicole Rocha<\/strong> continued her progress and in Series 3, she finished in the #15 position, with a time of 3:08.08. While in Series 4, she did not go further than the #13 position.

In the Olympic Bobsleigh<\/strong>, Edson Bindilatti<\/strong> improved his time to 1:01.11; but it was not enough to finish in a better place, as he finished in the #29 position. Then, he continued his participation but could not improve his results. In the Olympic Quadruple<\/strong>, Bindilatti<\/strong> finished in the #26 position in both official practices.

Michel Macedo<\/strong>, could not finish either of the two Olympic Alpine Skiing<\/strong> competitions he competed in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Update<\/strong><\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In the official training of the Olympic Bobsleigh<\/strong>, the Brazilian Edson Luque<\/strong> managed to finish in the #23 position with a time of 1:00.12, 1.31 seconds more than the first place, the Canadian Kripps<\/strong>.

On his second opportunity he managed to improve his final result; since he finished in position #19, but increased his time to 1:00.32, only 1.10 seconds more than the Canadian.

His third opportunity was much better; since he managed to lower the times of the other two practices to 1:00.09 and finished in the #18 position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chile<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Chile<\/strong>, for its part, has Henrik von Appen<\/strong>, in the discipline of Alpine Olympic Skiing<\/strong>, who began his presentation on February 3 in the first round of training, where he managed to finish in position #30 with a time of 1: 46.04. The second practice for Henrik<\/strong> did not go as well as he expected; as he finished in the #44 position slightly worsening his first time, 1:46.62.

Finally, in the event for the medals, Henrik <\/strong>managed to sign up for #32, with a time of 1:47.69, 5 seconds behind the winner.

In the women’s category, Emilia Aramburo <\/strong>in the discipline of Alpine Olympic Skiing<\/strong> managed to finish in position #42, after two rounds of times of 1:07.71 and 1:08.61.

Meanwhile, In the Olympic Alpine Skiing, Henrik von Appen<\/strong> managed to finish the competition in the #27 position.

In the free classification of the Olympic Cross-Country Skiing<\/strong>, Yonathan Fernandez<\/strong> could not have a good presentation and finished in position #85.

In the female category of the Olympic Alpine Skiing<\/strong>, Emilia Aramburo<\/strong> could not finish the competition. And in the first men’s Olympic Alpine Skiing training<\/strong>, Henrik Von Appen<\/strong> could not finish the training either.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Update<\/strong><\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In the Olympic Cross Country Skiing<\/strong> discipline, Yonathan Fernandez<\/strong> finished #91 with a time of 50:36.6.

In the Women’s Acrobatic Slopestyle Skiing<\/strong>, Dominique Ohaco<\/strong> finished in 22nd place, being disqualified from this competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Colombia<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

For its part, the Colombian group had its first contact in these Olympics with Carlos Quintana<\/strong> in the discipline of Olympic Cross-Country Skiing<\/strong>, where he finished in last place in the competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Update<\/strong><\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Carlos Quintana<\/strong> returned to the track and finished in last place in the Olympic Cross Country Skiing<\/strong>. He had 17:47.1 seconds more than the first place.

Michael Poettoz<\/strong> in the discipline of Alpine Olympic Skiing<\/strong> finished in the #31 position; then in his second presentation, he finished again in the same position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ecuador<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Ecuado<\/strong>r has Sarah Escobar <\/strong>in the discipline of Alpine Olympic Skiing<\/strong>, who competed with the Bolivian<\/strong> Aramburo<\/strong>; but did not have the same luck and did not manage to finish the competition on Monday, February 07, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mexico<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

For its part, Mexico<\/strong> also had its female representative in the Olympic Alpine Skiing<\/strong>, the veteran Sarah Schleper<\/strong>, who finished in position #37 in the classification, with times of 1:06.42 and 1:05.53, with a total of 2: 11.95 to 16.26 seconds from Sara Hector<\/strong>, from Sweden<\/strong>, who was the winner of this competition.

In the Olympic Figure Skating<\/strong>, Mexico<\/strong> has its hopes in Donovan Carrillo<\/strong> who, in his first performance, finished #19, with a score of 79.69, qualifying for the final round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Schleper <\/strong>continued his participation in these Winter Olympics <\/strong>in the Olympic Alpine Skiing<\/strong>, she finished in 35th place.

In the Men’s<\/strong> Olympic Cross-Country Skiing<\/strong>, Jonathan Soto<\/strong> finished in the penultimate position, only surpassing the Colombian Carlos Quintana<\/strong>.

In Alpine Olympic Skiing<\/strong>, Rodolfo Dickson<\/strong> finished in 35th place out of 46 participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Peru<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Like Mexico, Ecuador and Chile, Peru<\/strong> also had its female representative in the Alpine<\/strong> Olympic Ski discipline<\/strong>, Ornella Oettl Reyes<\/strong>. Ornella<\/strong> finished in position #46 in the classification, with very high times of 1:12.52 and 1:11.53, with a total of 2:24.05, 28.36 seconds behind the Swedish.<\/strong>

Oettl’s<\/strong> participation in the Olympic Alpine Skiing<\/strong> continues, this time, she managed to finish in the medal race in position #44, 19.61 seconds more than the leader of the competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Puerto Rico<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The last Latin American team that has participated in these Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics<\/strong> has been Puerto Rico<\/strong>, through its athlete Kellie Delka<\/strong> in the Olympic Skeleton<\/strong>.

In the first practice carried out, that is, in series 1, Kellie<\/strong> finished in the last position of the table, position #24 with a time of 1:04.39, 2.05 seconds more than the leader of the competition.

In series 2, the Puerto Rican<\/strong> improved her participation and therefore improved her place in the classification, since she ranked #21 with a time of 1:04.42.

Delka<\/strong> had 4 official practices in the Olympic Skeleton<\/strong>, in which her best result was in the last practice when she finished #20 with a time of 1:04.52.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Olympic Skeleton, Kellie Delka<\/strong> could not finish higher than the penultimate place in the three heats she competed in.

While in Olympic Alpine Skiing<\/strong>, William Flaherty<\/strong> did not have his best participation either, since, although he improved his times, he could not overcome his rivals and could not get out of the bottom of the classification table.

As we have been able to observe, the performance of Latin American athletes<\/strong> in these Winter Olympic Games<\/strong> has not been the best, although there are still several competitions to be played and other athletes are waiting for their moment to show their best version, we believe that it is difficult for Latin America<\/strong> can bring a medal from these Olympics<\/strong>.
