This weekend we had an interesting fight night, as two strong contenders faced off to end the fight quickly with a devastating KO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also had multiple interesting fights in the main card going to decision, and of course, a submission victory that shows both a fighter’s skill set and his opponent’s corner failing their fighter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are going to dive into what happened in each of the 5 matches we previously gave our predictions for and break down what happened on Saturday Night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UFC Fight Night Round-Up \u2013 Walker vs. Hill \u2013 Review and Fight Analysis<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Johnny Walker vs. Jamahal Hill<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Our Pick: Johnny Walker<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Outcome: Jamahal Hill turns Walker’s lights out in the first round.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Jamahal Hill <\/strong>has earned a reputation for possessing knockout power. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At 6\u20194\u2033 and 205 lbs. he has a physique that could easily put on enough muscle to become a heavyweight. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Perhaps that\u2019s the secret to his power; he possesses heavyweight strength and his opponents are not accustomed to that sort of impact. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regardless of the physics behind the phenomenon, there is no denying Hill\u2019s prowess as a knockout artist. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When Johnny Walker<\/strong> attempted a lazy jab, Hill countered with an overhand right that landed on Walker\u2019s temple. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The punch knocked Walker <\/strong>out on impact; he was asleep before he hit the canvas. Jamahal Hill<\/strong> is here to stay. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kyle Daukaus vs. Jamie Pickett<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Our Pick: Kyle Daukaus<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Outcome: Daukaus scored a submission win in the first round via D’arce Choke<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Kyle Daukaus<\/strong> is a middleweight who has earned a reputation for being equally as good at grappling as he is at striking. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Against a fighter as well-rounded as he is, it is best to adjust on the fly. One minute you could be exchanging punches, the next you could be on the mat. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jamie Pickett<\/strong> did a great job early on of avoiding the various submission holds that Daukaus <\/strong>attempted against him. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, with time running out in the first round, Daukaus <\/strong>was able to establish a blood-choke with a serious grip. Pickett <\/strong>could feel himself losing breath and tapped out to submit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s no shame in submitting to a submission artist as skilled as Daukaus<\/strong>, but there\u2019s one glaring exception: there was only one second left in the round when Pickett tapped out!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parker Porter vs. Alan Baudot<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Our Pick: Parker Porter<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Outcome: Parker Porter scores a unanimous decision victory.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parker Porter and Alan Baudot<\/strong> are two very large men. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They each weigh close to the 265 lb. limit set for heavyweights by the organization. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These two men split the first two rounds of the fight. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Porter <\/strong>put an exclamation point on the first round with a late takedown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Baudot <\/strong>outpointed Porter <\/strong>in round two with good use of the jab. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through the first few minutes of round three, Baudot <\/strong>continued to be effective with the jab, keeping Porter <\/strong>on the outside. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, Porter <\/strong>scored a takedown with two minutes left in the round and proceeded to dominate the remainder of the fight with ground control time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That would prove to be the determining factor, as the judges awarded Porter <\/strong>for his efforts with a unanimous decision victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jim Miller vs. Nikolas Motta<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Our Pick: Jim Miler<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Outcome: The Veteran Miller scored a TKO by punches in the 2nd round.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Nikolas Motta<\/strong> fought admirably for the first round and a half. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, Jim Miller<\/strong> is an experienced veteran who knows how to exploit his opponent\u2019s weaknesses. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the middle of the second round, Miller <\/strong>found an opening and landed an overhand right that sent Motta <\/strong>crashing to the mat. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He then pounced on his opponent and rendered him defenseless with a fierce barrage of punches. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The referee was forced to stop the fight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Joaquin Buckley vs. Abdul Razak Alhassan<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Our Pick: Joaquin Buckley<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Outcome: Buckley scores a split decision victory.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In the first round, both men showed too much respect for their opponent\u2019s power. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They were tentative and neither one was able to accomplish much. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Round two saw a huge increase in the action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After Buckley <\/strong>scored a huge takedown, Alhassan <\/strong>fought to his feet and attempted to respond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 However, Buckley <\/strong>stayed aggressive and forced Alhassan <\/strong>to backpedal for most of the round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alhassan <\/strong>looked tired to begin round three, but he was able to find his second wind. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He landed a big overhand right with three and a half minutes left in the round that clearly hurt Buckley<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

About a minute later, he scored his best takedown of the entire match.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 His superior strength was on display throughout the round, as he added some impressive ground control time to the impressive performance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the end, the judges decided that Buckley <\/strong>did enough in the first two rounds to escape with the win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Aftermath: A clean KO to push forward in the division.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Once again, our predictions hit 4 out of 5 correct calls, so things are going steady.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jamahal Hill<\/strong> managed to score a vicious KO to take away our perfect run, and also to slow down Walker’s run in the UFC<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the power he has at hand, he is pushing forward to score a spot as the next contender for the title.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
