Yesenia Guadalupe G\u00f3mez Vasquez<\/strong>\u00a0is a Mexican professional boxer <\/a>born on January 21st, 1996 who has held the WBC female light flyweight title since 2018.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of May 2020, she is ranked as the world’s seventh-best active female light flyweight by BoxRec.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

G\u00f3mez vs. Dorely Valente<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

G\u00f3mez <\/strong>made her professional debut on 25 June 2011, losing by unanimous decision (UD) over four rounds against Dorely Valente<\/strong> at the Parque Andr\u00e9s Quintana Roo in Cozumel, Mexico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

G\u00f3mez vs. Castro<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

G\u00f3mez <\/strong>bounced back from defeat with a four-round UD win against Rebeca Castro<\/strong> in February 2012.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

G\u00f3mez vs. Arely Valente<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Yesenia <\/strong>lost her next fight to her debut opponent’s twin sister, Arely Valente<\/strong>, in April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

G\u00f3mez vs. Arely Valente 2<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

She won her next three fights, two by stoppage, before facing Arely Valente<\/strong> in a rematch on 16 March 2013 at the Grand Oasis Arena in Canc\u00fan, Mexico. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

G\u00f3mez <\/strong>gained revenge by defeating Valente <\/strong>via UD over ten rounds to capture the WBC Youth female flyweight title, with the judges’ scorecards reading 98\u201392, 98\u201393, and 97\u201393.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

G\u00f3mez vs. Diaz<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

She managed to retain her title with a first-round technical knockout (TKO) against Blanca Diaz<\/strong> the following May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

G\u00f3mez vs. Arely Valente 3<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

She lost the title via majority decision (MD) in the third fight with Arely Valente<\/strong> on 17 August 2013 at the Plaza de Toros in Canc\u00fan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two judges scored the bout 98\u201392 in favor of Valente, while the third scored it even at 96\u201396.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

G\u00f3mez vs. Perez<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Two months later she faced Susana Cruz Perez<\/strong> for the WBC Youth female minimumweight title on 12 October in Calpulalpan, Mexico. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

G\u00f3mez <\/strong>suffered the fourth defeat of her career, losing via UD over ten rounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two judges scored the bout 98\u201392 and the third scored it 97\u201393.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

G\u00f3mez vs. Ramirez<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

After scoring three wins, one by stoppage, she captured her second professional title by defeating Guadalupe Ramirez<\/strong> for the WBC Youth female light flyweight title on 28 February 2015 at the Oasis Hotel Complex in Canc\u00fan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All three judges scored bout 98\u201394.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

G\u00f3mez vs. Juarez<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

After three more wins, two by stoppage, she faced future world champion, Lourdes Ju\u00e1rez<\/strong>, in September 2016. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bout was called off in the fourth round on the advice of the ringside doctor after G\u00f3mez <\/strong>suffered a cut from an accidental clash of heads, resulting in a no contest (NC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gomez vs. Calvo 1 & 2<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Her next two fights were against Jacky Calvo<\/strong> in April and June 2017, with both resulting in a draw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

G\u00f3mez vs. Bautista<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

This was followed by an MD loss to Guadalupe Bautista<\/strong> in September of the same year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gomez vs. Moreno<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Her next fight came against reigning WBC female light flyweight champion Esmeralda Moreno<\/strong> on 19 May 2018 at the Poliforum in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moreno <\/strong>retained her title through a majority draw, with two judges scoring the bout even at 95\u201395 while the third scored it 97\u201393 in favor of G\u00f3mez<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

G\u00f3mez vs. Moreno 2<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

She would get an immediate rematch with Moreno <\/strong>on 22 September 2018 at the Grand Oasis Arena. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

G\u00f3mez <\/strong>settled the score on their previous bout, defeating Moreno <\/strong>via MD to capture the WBC female light flyweight title. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two judges scored the bout in favor of G\u00f3mez with 97\u201393 and 96\u201394, while the third judge scored it even at 95\u201395.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
