The vacant IBF<\/strong> atomweight title was on the line when promising young boxer <\/strong><\/a>Eri Matsuda<\/strong>; who came in with a 4-0-1 record, faced veteran and underdog Ayaka Miyao<\/strong>; who came in with a record of 24-9-2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Against all odds, Ayaka Miyao <\/strong>achieved a spectacular victory in this interesting fight for the vacant IBF<\/strong> title.

Although everyone favored the young Matsuda<\/strong> for this fight, Miyao <\/strong>began her participation with an excellent rhythm and with a speed that we had not seen in a long time. Although she had not had some good fights in her last presentations, in this one she came out with a new face, and from the first round, she was on top of Matsuda<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matsuda<\/strong> tried to use her agility and speed which, in theory with his youth, could have a considerable advantage over Miyao<\/strong>.

The fight went back and forth in the first half, some rounds going to Matsuda<\/strong>, while others went to Miyao<\/strong>. During almost the entire fight, the veteran showed that her experience was worth more than a push of several consecutive victories with which Matsuda<\/strong> arrived.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The veteran of a thousand battles Miyao <\/strong>boxed at an exquisite distance against Matsuda<\/strong> who in theory had everything to win. Miyao<\/strong>, maintaining Matsuda’s superior physique, managed to get her slightly out of range, suddenly hitting with her right hand and sometimes returning the left hook. When Matsuda<\/strong> forced her way in, she hit the right flank impressively.

Matsuda<\/strong>, who is 11 years Miyao’s<\/strong> junior, managed to pick up the pace of the attacks from the fifth round. Miyao<\/strong>, who was a bit slow at the time, continued to have a tough round, but the pace picked up again in the ninth round, where she again dominated the fight. Eri <\/strong>was unable to cope with this and lost a decisive point that ultimately affected the judges’ scores too much.

Finally, the score was 96-94, 96-94, 95-95, giving her an excellent 2-0 win, but Miyao’s <\/strong>deft pace made Matsuda<\/strong> stand out for her monotonous attack and defense.
