This weekend the actions of the World Surf League<\/a> <\/strong>continue in its 2022 season when the best promises of Australia and New Zealand <\/strong>face each other on the beautiful beaches of Sydney<\/strong> looking for a very good victory that will help them add the necessary points and thus be able to be much closer to fulfilling their dream of being in the Challenger Series<\/strong>.

This event will take place from March 4 to 6, 2022 at Maroubra Beach<\/strong>, in Sydney<\/strong>, Australia<\/strong>. This is one of the crucial events for young surfers who aspire to be in the Challenger Series <\/strong>and why not qualify for the World Championship Tour <\/strong>shortly.

The Qualifying Series <\/strong>takes place from the beginning of February to April, in this division it will be determined which surfers qualify for the Challenger Series<\/strong>, which in turn will take place from May to December 2022. From this, some surfers could have the possibility of being in the CT<\/strong> of 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Alister Reginato<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Since his debut in 2017, Alister Reginato<\/strong> has made remarkable improvements every year in each of the events in which he participates. In 2021, his best result was a #17 position, precisely in the Mad Mex Maroubra Pro<\/strong>, but his 2022 has started in a better way and, in the CARVE Great Lakes Pro<\/strong>, he managed to obtain third place, adding 650 points and, raising his confidence for the next tournaments in which he will participate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Chris Zaffis<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      On the other hand, Chris Zaffis<\/strong> has the experience of having been in the 2020 Challenger Series<\/strong>, but he did not have good participation and lost his place in this category. In 2021, Zaffis<\/strong> could not go further than #9 in the QS<\/strong> tournaments he played. While in 2022, his luck has changed and, in the Gage Roads Port Stephens Pro,<\/strong> he managed to finish in second place, losing the final against Mikey McDonagh<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      • Sophie McCulloch<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        Sophie McCulloch<\/strong> is one of the young Australian surfers who have captivated many local fans. Thanks to her excellent participation in the 2021 QS<\/strong> events, Sophie<\/strong> managed to qualify for the CS<\/strong> in 2021. Although she did not have a good performance, her best result was a #17 position. This experience made it clear to Sophie<\/strong> that her level has increased and this has been demonstrated in the only event in which she has participated this 2022, the Phillip Island Pro<\/strong>, where she managed to take first place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        • Zahli Kelly<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

          Finally, Zahli Kelly<\/strong> has not had the beginning of the year that she would have dreamed of. But, despite this, she has managed to improve their results compared to previous years. She finished #17 at the Phillip Island Pro<\/strong>, #5 at the C A R V E Great Lakes Pro,<\/strong> and #9 at the Gage Roads Port Stephens Pro<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
