The month that has the most basketball in the year is already here: March Madness<\/strong>. The Crazy March<\/strong> is already underway and the path to finding the NCAA <\/strong>basketball champion is well advanced since we already have results from the first two rounds.

With the arrival of the weekend, the second round in this March Madness <\/strong>opened. And the first game already left a good example of what these days will mean. After 45 minutes of sheer madness, North Carolina <\/strong>eliminated defending champion, Baylor<\/strong>. Being down 25 points with 10 minutes remaining, they forced overtime.

An unbeatable start to a historic day for the small university from Saint Peter’s #15 <\/strong>who defeated Murray State <\/strong>and keep their fairy tale alive in this tournament. In addition, Drew Timme<\/strong>, who had 25 points and 14 rebounds, made Gonzaga<\/strong> wake up in time, and ended up defeating Memphis<\/strong> in one of the best games so far in the tournament.

That was not all. Creighton<\/strong> played hard against #1 Kansas<\/strong>, but the Jayhawks got away with a 79-72 win.

Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski <\/strong>and Michigan State’s Tom Izzo <\/strong>met head-to-head for the last time. Krzyzewski<\/strong> is retiring after 42 seasons with the Blue Devils<\/strong>, but with Duke’s victory over Michigan State<\/strong>, he has at least one more game to coach in the Sweet 16<\/strong>.

The Villanova Wildcats <\/strong>are dancing the Sweet 16<\/strong> (again) after thwarting the Ohio State Buckeyes’ comeback attempt in the second half to win 71-61. After crushing Illinois<\/strong> 68-53, Houston <\/strong>will make its third consecutive appearance in the Sweet 16<\/strong>. The Coogs’ streak is the third-longest active behind Gonzaga (seven) and Michigan (five)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
