Cuauht\u00e9moc Blanco Bravo<\/strong> is a former Mexican soccer player and current governor of the state of Morelos in Mexico, who was born on January 17, 1973, in Mexico City. He is one of the best soccer players in the history of Mexico. At the beginning of his career, he played in the forward or winger position, but over the years he established himself as a creative midfielder. There is where he had the success he is known for.

He is the second historical scorer of Club America <\/strong>with 153 goals and is the third on the Mexican soccer team with 38 goals. He also has to his credit the feat of being the first Mexican to score goals in 3 World Cups<\/strong>, in France 98<\/strong>, Korea-Japan 2002, <\/strong>and South Africa 2010<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First Years<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

His beginnings as a professional soccer player were with Club America<\/strong>, a team with which he made his debut on December 5, 1992, in a Liga MX match<\/a><\/strong> against Leon<\/strong>. His first stage in America <\/strong>only lasted 2 years, where he only played 16 official matches with the team, scoring 6 goals. After these two years, they decided to send him on loan to Necaxa<\/strong>, where he lasted 2 seasons and, thanks to his excellent performance, he was able to return to America<\/strong> for the 1998 season.

That year was where his great career began, since, being the team’s starting striker, he managed to score 16 goals in the tournament to obtain the individual scoring Championship. In the year 2000, he achieved an excellent participation in the Copa Libertadores<\/strong>, where he scored 9 goals in 12 games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to the fantastic level shown in the Copa Libertadores<\/strong>, he caught the attention of Real Valladolid<\/strong>. His first goal with the Spanish team shirt was nothing more and nothing less than against Real Madrid<\/strong> at the Santiago Bernab\u00e9u Stadium<\/strong> through a free-kick, which meant the tie for his team at that time. Despite having a very good season, his purchase did not materialize, and he returned to Mexican soccer, again with America <\/strong>for the 2002 and 2003 seasons.

Then, Blanco<\/strong> played with Veracruz <\/strong>for one season, leading his team to finish the tournament in the first place, something that had not happened for more than 50 years. In 2005 Cuauht\u00e9moc<\/strong> returned to America<\/strong> to play his next two seasons; being one of the main figures of Mexican soccer and his team.

In 2007, he signed for the Chicago Fire<\/strong> of the MLS<\/strong>, a team where he did not have the desired success. However, in the same way, thanks to good presentations, he had the opportunity to play in the MLS All-Stars<\/strong> in 2008 against West Ham<\/strong>. That time they managed to win thanks to a goal and an assist from Blanco<\/strong>, being named the MVP<\/strong> of the match.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last Years<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Refusing to retire, Cuauht\u00e9moc Blanco <\/strong>decides to play for Veracruz<\/strong> in the Liga de Ascenso<\/strong>.

In 2014, he was into consideration again to play in the first division, but this time with Puebla<\/strong>, where he played the 2014 and 2015 seasons. Finally, Club America<\/strong>, as a tribute, included him in their squad for a match corresponding to matchday 9 of the Closing Tournament of Liga MX 2016<\/strong>, where he played 36 minutes to finally say goodbye to his career as an active soccer player.

Throughout his career, Cuauht\u00e9moc Blanco<\/strong> played 697 games, where he managed to score 234 goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
