On Sunday, June 5th, we take our ticket to the Barcelona-Catalunya region to see the latest installment of the\u00a0MotoGP Grand Prix of Catalunya<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Barcelona-Catalunya circuit has hosted a Grand Prix every year since it was first included on the MotoGP\u2122 calendar in 1992 and the annual visit to this venue is enjoyed by riders and fans alike, with a superb track producing great racing just 25km to the north of Barcelona, one of Europe\u2019s most vibrant cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the home venue for many of the sport\u2019s biggest stars; including Marc Marquez, Jorge Lorenzo, Maverick Vi\u00f1ales, Dani Pedrosa, and the Espargaro brothers Aleix and Pol.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Catalan GP<\/strong> typically falls in June, a great time of the year to visit this beautiful Mediterranean region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MotoGP Catalunya Race Preview<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Home to some of the most spectacular MotoGP races; the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is hosting a Grand Prix for the 31st year in succession.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the races that remains a classic of the modern era is the 2009 edition. That time, Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo battled every lap until the final corner. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leading with just one sector to go, Lorenzo thought victory was his before Rossi invented a brilliant final corner overtake that no one could have seen coming. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the front tire on the absolute limit, Rossi managed to park his Yamaha on the apex and hold off Lorenzo to the line. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rossi holds the most wins at Catalunya (10) with six of those coming in MotoGP<\/strong>. Meanwhile, Lorenzo has five in the premier class and Marc Marquez; who won\u2019t be taking part in this weekend\u2019s Grand Prix after electing to have a fourth operation on his right arm since 2020; has three wins in total (two in MotoGP)<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
