We start another week on the\u00a0MLB calendar<\/a>,<\/strong>\u00a0looking at the shifts that occurred from the series that just finished and how the teams are doing with their new season records.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is a slight shift at the very top of the scoreboards as one of the leading teams has closed the distance. Also, there is now a fight for 2nd place, which is now dangerously close to first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the helm, the leaders of the AL East Division, with now a 66-31 record, the NY Yankees<\/strong>, continue to keep themselves at the front but with a smaller margin, it seems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Yankees <\/strong>had a stronger lead in the previous weeks, and now they have to step it up as they are getting caught up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second place at the scoreboards has changed, as now, both the NL West leaders, the Los Angeles Dodgers<\/strong>, and the AL West leaders, the Houston Astros <\/strong>are in a dogfight, with the Dodgers currently at 64 and 30, and the Astros at 64 and 32.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After them, the Mets<\/strong> lead the NL East with 59 and 37, and they have The Braves<\/strong> right behind them at a dangerous distance with 58 and 39.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, this week the top teams are close to each other, so very little is needed to make shifts on the scoreboard by Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We do not expect them to have too much opposition in the first series, and for the second, the Mariners <\/strong>just got crushed on the 3 games of last week’s series and we do not expect them to shift things up for this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
