We start not only a new week, but a new month on the MLB calendar<\/a>,<\/strong> and we have some small shifts at the top of the scoreboards, which should make for an interesting week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is a slight change at the very top of the scoreboards as the first and second place have just a 1 victory difference between them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is no room in between and the 3rd and 4rth place are right on their back too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the helm, the leaders of the AL East Division, with now a 69-34 record, the NY Yankees<\/strong> continue to keep themselves at the front but are just barely holding on to that spot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the scrap last week, the second place at the scoreboards now belongs to the Los Angeles Dodgers,<\/strong> who have landed a score of 68-33 and the Houston Astros <\/strong>are right behind them third with 67 and 36.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After them, the Mets<\/strong> lead the NL East with 64 and 37, and they have the Braves<\/strong> close behind them with 62 and 41.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, this week the top teams are close to each other, so anything could pretty much tip and change the order at this point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Yankees <\/strong>are still at the helm for a reason, and they are going to play with all their might in these series, to avoid being caught by the Dodgers<\/strong>, or any other team at all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They are facing teams who are doing well during the week, but it shouldn’t be too much of an issue to run them over.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They are coming in strong, and they have closed the gap to the leaders, now being one victory away from them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They should be able to take over if they can handle the two series ahead of them this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Giants<\/strong> shouldn’t be a problem, but the Padres<\/strong> are not going down without a fight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One way or the other, we have the Dodgers<\/strong> as our pick on both series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Houston Astros <\/strong>couldn’t keep up the second spot, but they are as close as they can be, both to 2nd and 1rst place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If they manage to crush their opponents this week, we might even see them at the helm by Sunday Night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We do not expect them to have too much opposition during the week, as the Red Sox <\/strong>are at the bottom of the AL East, and the Guardians<\/strong> are having the same results even though they are second in the AL Central.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Keep an eye out on the Astros<\/strong>, as they have their best chance to climb during this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
