The matchday 12 of the Liga MX Opening Tournament<\/strong> is over and we have a new leader: a great Am\u00e9rica <\/strong>who is a serious candidate for the title.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Precisely the Eagles beat another of the candidates, Tigres<\/strong>, 2-1 this weekend at the Azteca stadium. Jonathan Rodr\u00edguez and Igor Lichnovsky (own goal) scored for the locals, while Andr\u00e9-Pierre Gignac did it for the Felines, who dropped to sixth place. America <\/strong>has 25 points and Tigres <\/strong>21.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pachuca <\/strong>beat Santos <\/strong>2-0 in a key match to enter the top 4 and, precisely, surpass the Lagunero team. Nicol\u00e1s Ib\u00e1\u00f1ez and Javier L\u00f3pez scored for the Tuzos who are now third with 24 points, 2 more than the Verdiblancos, who are fourth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Toluca<\/strong>, who played the last game on Sunday, could not at the Nemesio Diez stadium with Chivas <\/strong>and tied 0-0 in a very boring game. The Red Devils continue to drop and are already fifth, out of the teams that qualify directly for the quarterfinals: they have the same points as Santos<\/strong>, but with a worse goal difference and one more game. V\u00edctor D\u00e1vila scored a brace for the visitors in added time and they narrowly managed a heroic draw. Necaxa <\/strong>is 7th with 17 points and Le\u00f3n <\/strong>14th with 12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quer\u00e9taro and Puebla<\/strong> tied 1-1 with goals from Ariel Nahuelp\u00e1n for the White Roosters and Jozy Altidore for La Franja. The locals are last while the visit is ninth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ju\u00e1rez <\/strong>managed to rescue a great draw at home against Cruz Azul<\/strong> by 2-2 and remains in last place inside the classifieds (12th). The locals had been left with a man less just 4 minutes after a red card to Javier Salas and the Machine took the opportunity to go 0-2 in the first half with goals from Michael Estrada and Gonzalo Carneiro. However, the Bravos did not stop and managed to tie it at the end with goals from Dar\u00edo Lezcano, at 86′, and from Darwin Mach\u00eds, from a penalty at 90+8′.
