The Canadian Grand Prix will celebrate a new edition in 2023, having been part of the Formula One World Championship since 1967.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 In 2005, it was the most-watched Formula One Grand Prix in the world. The race was also the third most-watched sporting event worldwide, behind the first-place Super Bowl XXXIX and that year\u2019s UEFA Champions League Final.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2020 and 2021 events were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but it was after the cancellation of the 2021 edition, that the contract was extended to 2031.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fast, low-downforce circuit is one of the drivers\u2019 favorites. The track is quite stop-start, with lots of heavy-braking chicanes and the famous hairpin to get the anchors working hard.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Out of the corners, though, the track is quick and flowing, while the most iconic piece of the circuit comes right at the end of the lap: the Wall of Champions, so-called after excursions into it from Damon Hill, Jacques Villeneuve, and Michael Schumacher during the 1999 Canadian Grand Prix weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the F1 action returns to Montreal and the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve this weekend, Red Bull’s Max Verstappen will be looking to claim a fourth race victory on the bounce to cement his 2023 World Drivers’ Championship aspirations.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Dutchman has been in stunning form of late and as expected, heads into the latest race of the season as the overwhelming favourite. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That said, teammate Sergio Perez still lurks, whilst Mercedes pair Lewis Hamilton and George Russell will be primed to strike given their double podium finish last time out in Barcelona. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That result ensured their jump above Aston Martin into P2 of the Constructors’ standings and it also highlighted their growth across recent races given that their pace seemed much-improved thanks in part to a sided redesign. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to that, we’re backing Hamilton to claim another podium this weekend in Montreal.<\/strong> Whilst Russell represents bigger odds, Hamilton holds all the experience needed to succeed at the Canadian Grand Prix, winning this race seven times \u2014 the joint-most alongside Michael Schumacher. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
