The NFL regular season<\/a> continues to go forth, but we are currently going to look back for a second, just to point out all the interesting things that took place during this week 8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Things took a turn, where the Chiefs, who were the clear leaders in the AFC, were caught up by 3 teams due to the latest results,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the other hand, the Philadelphia Eagles managed to keep things up and continue to be the top team in the NFC, as they got a good result in their clash with the Commanders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Things were fun all over the board this weekend, and we are glad about it, but it’s time to break down some of the matches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NFL Week 8 Roundup: <\/strong>Pittsburgh Steelers 10 – 20 Jacksonville Jaguars<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Running back Travis Etienne Jr. scored a touchdown in a fourth consecutive game and the Jaguars’ defense turned in yet another strong effort. <\/strong>The performances keyed a 20-10 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in front of 67,225 at Acrisure Stadium on a gray late October Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Etienne’s 56-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter gave the Jaguars a two-touchdown lead, and kicker Brandon McManus converted all four of his field goal attempts.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Jaguars registered three sacks and two takeaways Sunday, with outside linebacker Travon Walker registering one in the first quarter and outside linebacker Josh Allen adding one early in the third quarter, and another in the fourth quarter. Jacksonville now has 16 sacks and 18 takeaways this season, and Allen has nine in his account.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just two games into his Philadelphia Eagles career, Julio Jones showcased the greatness that makes him a future Hall of Fame receiver. Jones caught the go-ahead touchdown pass in the fourth quarter to give the Eagles a thrilling 38-31 victory over the Washington Commanders at FedEx Field on Sunday. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He caught an 8-yard touchdown pass from Jalen Hurts with 7:17 left to give Philadelphia its first lead of the day at 31-24. This was his first touchdown catch with the team after signing him two weeks ago. <\/strong>The touchdown catch came after Reed Blankenship intercepted Sam Howell for the Eagles’ first takeaway of the game. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Commanders had an opportunity to respond, but Terry McLaurin dropped a wide-open pass in the middle of the field when Washington faced a fourth-and-8 at the Philadelphia 40-yard line with 4:13 left. After the Eagles went three-and-out, Washington was stopped on fourth-and-5 after Haason Reddick sacked Howell and forced the fumble and a turnover on downs. Reddick’s sack was the only one for the Eagles all game. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

D’Andre Swift’s four-yard touchdown run with 1:50 left gave the Eagles a two-touchdown lead, but the Commanders scored a late touchdown to cut the deficit to 38-31 with 1:01 left. Philadelphia recovered the onside kick to seal the win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Denver Broncos and their fans had the feeling it was pointless trying to beat the Kansas City Chiefs after 16 straight losses to them dating back to 2015. However, you could see from the very opening of the game that it was going to be different.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A month ago the Broncos’ defense gave up 10 total touchdowns in a loss to the Miami Dolphins, but Vance Joseph has worked to turn things around. In the game against the Chiefs, the defense gave up just a single touchdown and was the leading force to bring them down in Week 8 for Denver\u2019s third win of the season.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the last several years it has felt like Denver only wins games against other bad teams. They never had a strong win against a championship-caliber team. That makes this win over the Chiefs a potential larger turnaround for the franchise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If they can start believing they can beat any team, we could see a bit of a run down the stretch after their Bye Week. For now, let\u2019s let the Broncos celebrate this win!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Baltimore gave up a touchdown right out of the gate and two more in the fourth quarter. In between, the Ravens’ opportunistic defense dominated, leading to a third straight win. Gus Edwards ran for two of his three touchdowns following interceptions, and the Ravens beat the Arizona Cardinals 31-24 on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Cardinals (1-7) prevented Lamar Jackson from scrambling for more than a few yards at a time and the Ravens finished with 268 total yards. Jackson threw for 157 yards on 18-of-27 passing and ran for 18 yards on four carries.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ravens harassed quarterback Joshua Dobbs all afternoon, forcing two interceptions and a fumble while sacking him four times.<\/strong> Arizona recovered the onside kick and Matt Prater kicked a 47-yard field goal, but the Cardinals couldn’t come up with another onside kick and lost their fifth straight.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
