The 2023 Formula 1 season is ending, and the Yas Marina Circuit in the United Arab Emirates will host the year’s farewell of the world’s best racers, the Abu Dhabi GP, again with the Dutch Max Verstappen (Red Bull) as the champion.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Yas Island track has been part of F1 since 2009, is 5.281 kilometers long, and has 16 corners. Last year’s winner was Verstappen, and, again, he looks like the big favorite. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Red Bull driver’s dominance has been overwhelming during the year,\u00a0as he has won 18 of the 21 races we had, achieving the record for most consecutive wins in a season,<\/a> leaving the mark at 10.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since his fifth place in Singapore, he has had six consecutive victories, crowning in Japan, Qatar, Texas, Mexico, Brazil, and Las Vegas. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

That’s 549 points for the three-time world champion, a considerable distance considering that second-placed teammate Sergio ‘Checo’ Perez has 273. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

While Verstappen wants to win for the fourth consecutive year in the United Arab Emirates, the betting puts McLaren’s Lando Norris as the second-greatest candidate. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a difficult start, the Englishman is closing 2023 greatly, even though he retired in the Las Vegas race. Since the Austrian Grand Prix, he had not been out of the Top 10 and was second in Great Britain, Netherlands, Singapore, Japan, Texas, and Brazil. This comeback has him in sixth place with 195 points, only five behind Fernando Alonso and Fernando Sainz Jr. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If Norris manages to win at Yas Marina, he will get the fourth place, although he will not be able to get on the podium, as Lewis Hamilton is unreachable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then we have to talk about ‘Checo’ P\u00e9rez, who won in Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan, so the Asian territory has been good for him during the campaign. However, his closing of 2023 has not been the best since he has retired in two of the last six races. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The good news for the Mexican is that his second place is assured, as he has 273 points, to Hamilton’s 232. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Perez has been on the podium nine times during the season but was unable to show a level rise compared to 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is certain is that his role, together with that of the Dutchman, ensured that the Red Bull team retained the constructors’ championship this year. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Charles Leclerc has had a disappointing run for Ferrari this year, as he has struggled too much with his SF-23. He has had three retirements, was disqualified once, and failed to qualify in the penultimate race. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the Monaco-born driver is coming from a good performance in the United States, as he finished second. He is currently in seventh position, far from the podium, closed by the seven-time world champion, Lewis Hamilton. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Briton has been the best Mercedes driver, although his last two races did not leave such good results since he was eighth and seventh. That cost him to fight for Perez’s second place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
