2024 Dutch GP Top Contenders<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There is no doubt that being local and the leader of the drivers’ standings, three-time F1 champion Max Verstappen is the big favorite to win the fifteenth Grand Prix of the season.

In addition, the Dutchman is looking to return to the top of the podium, since he has four races without reaching the top, as he was fifth in Austria and Hungary, second in Great Britain, and fourth in Belgium.

However, his first position in the drivers’ championship is not at risk yet, as none of his closest pursuers won: Lando Norris only got a second place and Charles Leclerc a third.

Max has 277 points, 78 more than Lando, so returning to victory would allow him to extend his lead and get closer to his fourth title in this competition.

Another of the strong names to win in the Netherlands is the British Norris, who is living his best season since he came to the top category of motorsport.

He premiered his victory cabinet in Miami and after this, he has four-second places, so he is the contender to take the victory from Verstappen.

Norris has risen thanks to the power of the car built for him by McLaren, which also has Oscar Piastri as another contender to win at Zandvoort, especially because he comes from being first in Hungary and second in Belgium.

Despite his youth and the fact that this is his second season in F1, Piastri is a reliable driver who has between his eyebrows the opportunity to enter the podium of the general classification, causing more traumas to a Ferrari season that is falling apart. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

While Verstappen goes for his fourth victory in the Netherlands, Lewis Hamilton, the seven-time world champion, wants to celebrate for the first time and his current situation allows him to think that it can happen.<\/strong> Until now, his best finish in this circuit was a second position.

The British Mercedes driver started the campaign badly but won two of the last three races and finished on the podium in all of them. He has already moved to sixth place with 150 points, so a win could help him get closer to the podium. The gap to Leclerc is 27 points. <\/strong>

His teammate and fellow countryman, George Russell, was also improving his performance in F1, thanks to Mercedes having improved the characteristics of his MCL38, but his mistakes cost him not finishing in Great Britain and being disqualified in Belgium.

Finally, we must talk about the two Ferrari cars, driven by Leclerc and Spaniard Carlos Sainz Jr. The former is missing his best chance to be the F1 champion, as he has only been on the podium once in the last six circuits he raced.
