Jalen Hurts remains the centerpiece, but Philadelphia has major questions after losing A.J. Brown and changing offensive coordinators. The defense remains talented, giving the Eagles the highest floor in the division. The biggest question is whether the offense can replace Brown&#8217;s production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"aioseo-offensive-line-analysis\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Offensive Line Analysis<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Eagles&#8217; offensive line remains one of the foundations of the roster, but it is not completely free of concerns. Philadelphia lost legendary offensive-line coach Jeff Stoutland during the offseason, which represents a major structural change for a group that has been one of the team&#8217;s defining strengths. Lane Johnson remains an elite veteran presence, but his 2025 injury coincided with a three-game losing streak and contributed to Philadelphia falling out of the race for the NFC&#8217;s top seed. The Eagles also struggled to run the football efficiently last season, ranking 23rd in yards per rush despite having Saquon Barkley healthy for most of the year. The offensive line therefore has two jobs in 2026: protect Jalen Hurts and restore the physical rushing identity that has traditionally defined Philadelphia. If Johnson stays healthy and the group maintains its level despite the coaching transition, this can still be an elite unit. If injuries strike again, the offense could become much more vulnerable than the market expects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"aioseo-defensive-line-analysis\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Defensive Line Analysis<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Philadelphia&#8217;s defensive front is still a major strength, but the Eagles have undergone substantial turnover at edge rusher. The team lost Jaelan Phillips, Brandon Graham, Azeez Ojulari and several other edge players, while bringing in Jonathan Greenard, Arnold Ebiketie, Joe Tryon-Shoyinka and A.J. Epenesa. Greenard is particularly important because he recorded 12-plus sacks in each of the previous two seasons before dropping to only three sacks in 2025. Philadelphia needs him to return to his earlier form. The Eagles&#8217; defense finished seventh in opponents&#8217; yards per play in 2025, and maintaining that level will be critical while the offense adjusts to a new coordinator and the loss of Brown. If the new edge rotation works, Philadelphia has the depth and talent to remain one of the NFC&#8217;s best defenses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"aioseo-2024-nfl-season\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">2026 NFL Season<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Week 1 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Washington Commanders at Philadelphia Eagles | Sunday, September 13 | 4:25 PM ET | Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia, PA<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is the actual Week 1 matchup. NFL.com confirms that the defending NFC East champion Eagles open the season against Washington at home. The game is particularly interesting because these teams split their two meetings in each of the previous two seasons, and Washington&#8217;s Jayden Daniels missed both matchups against Philadelphia last season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The current market has Philadelphia around -5.5, with the Eagles roughly -238 on the moneyline, Washington around +195, and the total around 46.5 at the latest Fox Sports snapshot. CBS Sports&#8217; live odds page has also shown Philadelphia around -4.5, illustrating how quickly this line can move.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The matchup favors Philadelphia because the Eagles have the more proven roster and home-field advantage. Washington&#8217;s healthy Jayden Daniels makes the game much more dangerous than the spread might suggest, but Philadelphia should be able to create pressure and force Washington&#8217;s offense into long-yardage situations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"aioseo-week-1-recap\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Week 1 Recap<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Philadelphia opened the season with a <strong>24-22 win over <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gambyl.com\/en\/nfl\/washington-commanders-betting\/\">Washingto<\/a>n<\/strong>, continuing one of the league&#8217;s most impressive Week 1 trends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nfl.com\/players\/jalen-hurts\/\">Jalen Hurts<\/a> accounted for three touchdowns, while the Eagles&#8217; defense held Washington to <strong>295 total yards<\/strong>. Philadelphia has made the playoffs in all five seasons with Nick Sirianni and Jalen Hurts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Super Bowl Chances: Legitimate contender. The +110 division number is significantly less attractive than the +140 that CBS Sports identified earlier in the summer. The A.J.
