Now that the matchday 6 of the Apertura MX 2024 has wrapped up, we can break down what is going on at the top, where the teams placed from the first to the 7th spot are all fighting to take over the first place.

Cruz Azul is the new leader, as their latest victory helped them get six points ahead of Monterrey. They also have an outstanding goal differential which is going to be pretty hard to follow.

Toluca, Tigres, Atlas, and Tijuana achieved points and are on the current leaders’ tracks. Meanwhile, even though Pumas had a setback, they are right behind on this hunt.

Tijuana achieved a 2-1 victory, as Professor Juan Carlos Osorio’s Xolos beat Club Le\u00f3n of strategist Jorge Bava, and in this way, the team has now placed themselves closer to the top.

With goals from Christian Rivera and Gilberto Mora for the Jaur\u00eda, as well as Iv\u00e1n Moreno for the Fiera, the actions of the first day of this Matchday 6 ended.

The actions began intensely because, at minute 21 (Lusiano Cabral was sent off at 17′), the scoreboard opened in favor of the Fronterizos with a wonder goal. Ball on the edge of the area, reception by Rivera with a bounce that ended in a hat, and a definition at ground level and between the legs of Alfonso Blanco to make the night 1-0.

Toluca entered the Steel Giant on Matchday 6 of the Apertura MX 2024 and achieved three important points by beating Rayados on the hour mark by 2-1, in a match marked by the failures of Brandon V\u00e1zquez.

In the first half, the Red Devils were superior. The scoring was opened by Jes\u00fas Gallardo, who was booed the entire match by the Monterrey fans on his return to the Gigante de Acero, and in the 5th minute, he appeared on the left wing, where he cut down an opponent and took a right hand to make it 1-0.

The locals tied with a penalty in the 54th minute. However, the Red Devils scored the second in the 86th, after Isa\u00edas Violante scored after beating two Monterrey players by speed and defined without opposition of Esteban Andrada.

Already in stoppage time, Germ\u00e1n Berterame seemed to score Monterrey’s second goal, but it ended up being disallowed for offside and the decision was validated by the VAR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cruz Azul won the Cl\u00e1sico Joven after beating Am\u00e9rica 4-1 this Saturday, August 31, on the field of the Ciudad de los Deportes Stadium, the former Azul Stadium.

Mart\u00edn Anselmi’s “Maquina Cementera” reached the Matchday 6 after defeating Quer\u00e9taro 0-2 with goals from Carlos Rotondi (45′, penalty) and Amaury Morales. Meanwhile, Andr\u00e9 Jardine’s \u00c1guilas had just lost surprisingly against Puebla (0-1), which confirmed their bad start to the tournament after registering two wins and three losses.

An early Brian Rodriguez goal brought fear to the local fans, who have many bad memories regarding the classic in recent times. However, with two goals at each side of halftime, La Maquina showed what everyone already knows: they are a better team this semester. Cruz Azul regained the lead in Liga MX<\/a> by reaching 16 points after five wins and one draw, while Am\u00e9rica stagnated in twelfth place with six points.

At the end of the match, fans of both teams clashed in the stands of the old Estadio Azul. One of the cameras could capture the moment in which four Am\u00e9rica fans attacked one of Cruz Azul. The origin of the fight is unknown. It seems that security was not enough, since in the shot, only two police officers can be seen trying to calm the fans as best they could.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pumas dominated at the beginning of the game, something that they capitalized on in the 15th minute when C\u00e9sar Huerta escaped from the right wing, entered the area, and shot. Fernando Tapia saved, but the rebound fell again to Huerta, and he crossed to Funes Mori’s entry, who finished off from the right to make it 1-0.

Tigres reacted after half an hour of play, driven by the skill of Gorriar\u00e1n, who entered the area and, in the cut-back, Lisandro Magall\u00e1n knocked him down. The referee signaled a penalty that Herrera took powerfully in the 37th minute to make it 1-1.

The visitors prolonged the reaction, and two minutes later, they scored 1-2 thanks to a spectacular mid-range shot that Gorriar\u00e1n embedded in the upper left corner of the goal defended by Julio Gonz\u00e1lez.
