Sunday will be full of excitement in the United States as the NFL will host its conference championship games, revealing the teams that will head to New Orleans for the Super Bowl.

In the AFC, the Kansas City Chiefs took care of business and will face the Buffalo Bills, who struggled significantly and advanced thanks to their opponent’s mistakes.

In the NFC, the Washington Commanders delivered a major upset by eliminating the top team in the conference, the Detroit Lions. Now, they will look to pull off another big shock against the Philadelphia Eagles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Philadelphia Eagles<\/a> delivered as expected this postseason, defeating the Green Bay Packers (22-10) and the Los Angeles Rams (28-22) to reach the conference championship.

Against the Rams, Saquon Barkley once again emerged as the standout player. The running back carried the ball 26 times for 205 yards and scored two of the team\u2019s three touchdowns.<\/strong> The other was scored by Jalen Hurts on a rushing play, underscoring the team\u2019s reliance on their ground game.

Through the air, Hurts completed just 15 of 20 passes for 128 yards. Dallas Goedert was his top target, with four receptions for 56 yards.<\/strong> The team recorded only 65 net passing yards, marking the lowest total for a postseason-winning team in the past 14 years.

Barkley, however, remains the key player. This season, he scored four rushing touchdowns against the Commanders in their two regular-season matchups, highlighting his power and the team\u2019s ranking as the second-best rushing offense in the league.

Meanwhile, the Washington Commanders<\/a>, led by Jayden Daniels, pulled off a major playoff upset by eliminating the favored Detroit Lions with a 31-45 victory. The tears and disappointment of the home fans illustrated how shocking the result was.

The Commander’s rookie quarterback, Daniels, has been the star of this club. Few expected a rookie to lead a team so effectively in the postseason. In the last game, he threw for 299 yards with no interceptions and two touchdown passes, bringing his postseason total to four.<\/strong> He is now just one touchdown pass away from the rookie postseason record.

Defensively, the Commanders struggled to contain Jared Goff and Detroit\u2019s potent offense but managed three interceptions against the quarterback. Jahmyr Gibbs added two rushing touchdowns, and Detroit scored 31 points, marking the fourth time this season the Commanders have allowed 30 or more.

Washington\u2019s offense shined, especially during a remarkable second quarter in which they scored 28 points. Besides Daniels, Brian Robinson also stood out with two rushing touchdowns, ending a five-game scoring drought.

Head coach Dan Quinn faces a challenge as he will be without guard Sam Cosmi, who was injured last Sunday. Trenton Scott, who started just one game this season, will step in as his replacement.

These teams met twice during the regular season. The Eagles won in Philadelphia during Week 11 with a 26-18 victory, featuring three rushing touchdowns and Hurts completing 18 of 28 passes for 221 yards. The Commanders got their revenge in Washington during Week 16, thanks to an exceptional performance by Daniels, who threw five touchdown passes while Hurts left the game due to injury.

The Kansas City Chiefs<\/a> have reached the conference final for the seventh consecutive season, boasting a 4-2 record in this round over that span, solidifying their status as a dynasty. They faced the Houston Texans in the Divisional Round, securing a 23-14 victory, though the game was more challenging than anticipated.

Despite finishing first in the conference<\/a> and having an impressive record, the Chiefs are not the unstoppable force of previous years and have shown vulnerabilities, as evidenced against the Texans. Patrick Mahomes completed 16 of 25 passes for 177 yards and one touchdown, connecting with Travis Kelce,<\/strong> marking Mahomes 11th consecutive game with at least one touchdown pass.

The keys to success for the Chiefs lie in Mahomes’ poise under pressure, Kelce’s veteran contributions, and the defense, which has been the team\u2019s backbone this season. Without their defensive strength,it\u2019s debatable whether they would have even made it to the postseason, as the offense has shown inconsistency. The duo Mahomes-Kelce can win you titles.

On the other hand, the Buffalo Bills<\/a> endured a nail-biting victory on January 19, defeating the Baltimore Ravens 27-25 to advance to the conference final, where they\u2019ll face the team that eliminated them four years ago.

The game against the Ravens was thrilling but ultimately decided by Baltimore\u2019sown mistakes. Tight end Mark Andrews will likely relive the game forever, as he fumbled a key pass recovered by the Bills and later failed to catch a two-point conversion that would have tied the game on the final play.

It\u2019s time for the Bills to move forward. Quarterback Josh Allen had an excellent performance in the snow, completing 16 of 22 passes and scoring two rushing touchdowns.<\/strong> The Bills’ defense shone brightly, limiting the Ravens\u2019 rushing attack, forcing three fumbles, and intercepting Lamar Jackson once.

Allen has been stellar this postseason, recording two passing touchdowns, two rushing touchdowns, 399 yards, and an impressive 75% completion rate with no interceptions.<\/strong> James Cook, another critical player for the Bills, ended a five-game streak of scoring rushing touchdowns in the last game. However, he is expected to bounce back, as he hasn’t gone two consecutive games without scoring this season.

These teams faced off in Week 11, with the Bills winning at home 30-21, handing the Chiefs their first loss of the season. That game showcased a duel of quarterbacks: Allen completed 27 of 40 passes for 262 yards and a touchdown while adding a rushing touchdown, and Cook scored two rushing touchdowns.<\/strong>Mahomes, on the other hand, completed 23 of 33 passes for 196 yards and three touchdowns.

Since 2021, they have met seven times, with the Bills winning four of those matchups, including three in Kansas City. However, all of Buffalo\u2019s victories have been in the regular season, while the Chiefs have won all three postseason meetings, reaffirming their reputation as a team built for big moments.
