Club Le\u00f3n has been the surprise of this Clausura MX tournament, not only because of the addition of James Rodr\u00edguez but also due to their impressive level of play. They secured a 1-2 victory over Mazatl\u00e1n, making it four wins in four matches.
They took an early lead. Just four minutes in, a pass from Stiven Barreiro was cleverly left by Rodrigo Echeverr\u00eda, allowing Emiliano Rigoni to finish smoothly for the 0-1.
Five minutes later, a lethal counterattack from ‘La Fiera’ saw Edgar Guerra set up Ettson Ay\u00f3n with a backheel pass, and the Mexican striker made it 0-2.

The opening goal came in the 29th minute after a shot from Alejandro Zendejas was blocked by a defender. Zendejas didn’t dwell on it, as he quickly got up, recovered the rebound, and sent in a cross for V\u00edctor D\u00e1vila, who headed it home for the 1-0 lead, scoring for the third consecutive match.
The 2-0 came just before halftime, in the 45th minute, following a mistake by Sebasti\u00e1n Jurado. The goalkeeper attempted a clearance but gifted the ball to Erick S\u00e1nchez, who cut inside the box and finished neatly into the corner.
In the second half, Brian Rodr\u00edguez added to the scoreline. His first goal came in the 66th minute after picking up a rebound from Jurado, and his second in the 80th, with a shot deflected by the goalkeeper but not enough to keep it out.

The ‘Zorros’ had to defend for the final half-hour after Jeremy M\u00e1rquez was sent off in the 63rd minute. However, they managed to hold on and take a point back to Guadalajara.
