The 12th matchday of the Clausura MX 2025 season has wrapped up, and we had some interesting and fun results during the clashes that unfolded in the Liga MX. The top of the board has made itself more interesting, as once again, we have a swap on the top spot in the standings.

Leon went from being undefeated and losing their first match last week to now being on a two-match losing streak, which gave Club America a window to take over the top and become the team with the least losses on the board.

The teams from the 3rd to the 8th spot got wins, so the top of the board is going up and increasing the gap, while Juarez and Guadalajara, in the 9th and 10th spot respectively, also managed to get a point from drawing.

It’s time for us to dive into the details of what we saw unfold in the clashes that went down in Matchday 12 of the Clausura MX <\/a>Regular Season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leon came from being an undefeated beast to losing their first match on a huge upset, and for some reason, the odds were pushing for Necaxa to be the team to win as they played at home.

The odds weren’t wrong, as Necaxa was able to put the hurt on the former leaders and took a 2-1 victory over them to push them into a losing streak.

Leon is likely going to have to go all out to get back to the top, but they are no longer the team with the least losses, and now, people are losing hope in them after their exceptional beginning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Toluca has been keeping themselves in great form, winning four matches in their last five games and they came up to wreck a Puebla team that is now on a 4-match losing streak.

It was not unexpected though, as Toluca and Puebla have been on opposing momentums, but the visitors took the hosts down hard with three goals and a clean slate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tigres had a favorable match when they faced the 17th-placed Santos Laguna. Not only did they manage to get the win, butscored three goals and a clean slate, which will favor them on the scoreboards.

Santos couldn’t handle the offensive output, but it seemed like no surprise, as they have taken 23 goals in total. They have been off all season, and the more we see, the less we believe they can pick up the pace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Atlas seemed to have the top team in a tough spot throughout the first half of the match.

The three-time champions looked committed and had a lot of luck facing the pressure of the Rojinegros, who didn’t lack the desire or the football to create danger, but they forgot about their decisiveness.

Two minutes into the second half, Alejandro Zendejas, \u00c9rick S\u00e1nchez, and Rodrigo Aguirre joined forces on the edge of the Rojinegros’ penalty area to create a quick triangulation that left the Uruguayan striker in the spotlight, and he crossed his shot to make it 1-0.

Three minutes after Aguirre’s goal, \u00c9rick S\u00e1nchez excelled with another assist, slipping a ball to ‘Chicote’ Calder\u00f3n, who powerfully fired a shot inside the far post to make it 2-0 in America’s favor.

Uros Durdevic got on the scoreboard in the 64th minute with a powerful shot from outside the box that found Malag\u00f3n’s far corner, reviving Atlas’ hopes. However, the Red and Black’s momentum crumbled 10 minutes later from a set piece, with a cross deflected to the far post, where Rodrigo Aguirre rounded off the scoreboard to score his brace and make it 3-1 and seal the deal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
