This week, the semifinalists of the CONCACAF Champions League will define when the eight teams still alive in the tournament play each other in the second leg of the Quarterfinals.

So far, we have seen incredible parity in all the games played in the first leg. Only one team managed to win, LAFC, over Inter Miami with a score of 1-0. The other three matches ended with ties, so the card is open, and everything will be defined between Tuesday and Wednesday.

As expected, we are having very intense and evenly matched games between the best teams in MLS and Liga MX. However, the teams will have to go for the win to get their tickets to the semifinals, and it is no secret that they will also have to be very careful not to get beaten.

After a scoreless draw in the first leg, both teams are fully motivated for this crucial second leg. Tigres, with home-field advantage, will feel the pressure to secure a victory, while the LA Galaxy will be looking to cause an upset and advance to the semifinals.

This showdown is another chapter in the historic “Cl\u00e1sico J\u00f3ven” series. The three-time Mexican soccer champions kept a clean sheet in the first leg but could not score an away goal, so they will be motivated to score at least one goal to make things difficult for Cruz Azul.

On the other hand, Cruz Azul will have to give their all to secure the victory and avoid conceding a goal; otherwise, they will need to score at least two goals to win and qualify for the semifinals.

The first leg at the Ciudad de los Deportes Stadium ended in a goalless draw, which gave the “M\u00e1quina” the opportunity to decide the series at the Ol\u00edmpico Universitario Stadium.<\/strong> A win is necessary for Cruz Azul to advance, but a 0-0 draw would lead to penalties. Even though Vicente S\u00e1nchez’s team managed a draw on the road, the away goals rule remains crucial in this tournament. Thus, Club Am\u00e9rica would benefit from this advantage in the second leg away from home.

Both Club Am\u00e9rica and Cruz Azul currently lead the Clausura 2025 standings, establishing themselves as the top two clubs in the local championship. The winner of this series will be decided on Tuesday and will face the winner of Tigres UANL and LA Galaxy in the semifinals.

Things are level, but LAFC secured a significant lead with a crucial goal and notably did not concede an away goal to Inter Miami.<\/strong> Therefore, the upcoming quarterfinal second leg between these teams has immense importance in determining who will advance to the semifinals.

Mascherano and his team are aware that not only is their lead in the Eastern Conference at stake, but also their undefeated streak this season. However, last week’s recent midweek loss to LAFC in this competition has called into question the level of performance Inter Miami can offer their fans and millions of viewers.

Inter Miami showed dominance and missed clear chances in the first half, while LAFC took control in the second half, culminating in a Nathan Ordaz goal.
