Wimbledon returns to the iconic All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club from June 30 to July 13, 2025, marking its 138th edition, with the world\u2019s best players aiming to be crowned champions.

This will be the 138th edition of the tournament, and for the first time, line judges will be replaced by automated electronic line judging. There will be 128 players in each main singles draw, while the doubles draw will feature 64 pairs and 32 teams in mixed doubles.

The tournament is held at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London, where Spain\u2019s Carlos Alcaraz and Czech Republic\u2019s Barbora Krej\u010d\u00edkov\u00e1 will be looking to defend the titles they won last year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

2025 Wimbledon Top Contenders <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019re in for a great tournament, and without a doubt, Jannik Sinner must be considered the main favorite. The Italian, champion of the Australian Open and finalist at Roland Garros this year, is aiming for his fourth Grand Slam title, having previously won the Australian Open twice and the U.S. Open once.

This year, he hasn\u2019t played much due to a three-month suspension, so he arrives somewhat more rested in that regard. He\u2019s coming off an incredible loss in the Roland Garros final to Alcaraz in five sets and over five hours after being two sets up and having three match points in the fourth set.

Wimbledon is the only Grand Slam where he hasn\u2019t yet reached a final,<\/strong> and he\u2019s coming off a loss in the round of 16 at Halle to Alexander Bublik.

Carlos Alcaraz must also be included among the top contenders. The Spaniard, champion of this tournament in both 2023 and 2024, wants to remain king of the cathedral of tennis<\/a>, just like Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer did not long ago.<\/strong>

Alcaraz comes in highly motivated\u2014not just because of his Roland Garros title, as previously mentioned, but also because he just won the ATP 500 in London, also on grass, after defeating Jiri Lehecka in a three-set final.

With five Grand Slam titles and 21 ATP titles, Alcaraz has an 18-match winning streak, during which he won the Rome Masters 1000 and Roland Garros on clay and the ATP 500 in London on grass<\/strong>. His last loss came on April 20 in the final of the ATP 500 in Barcelona against Holger Rune.

And we can\u2019t leave out one of the greatest players of all time\u2014if not the greatest\u2014Novak Djokovic. At 38 years old, the Serbian is feeling the effects of age, as seen in his straight-set loss to Sinner in the Roland Garros semifinals. However, his class remains intact, and he\u2019s always a player to watch out for.

Djokovic has 99 ATP singles titles plus an Olympic gold medal, and he\u2019ll be looking for his 100th title on the tour<\/strong>\u2014and what better place to do it than at a Grand Slam? He has 24 Grand Slam titles, including seven at Wimbledon.

He has reached the last six Wimbledon finals, winning four in a row and losing the next two to Alcaraz. From 2013 to 2024, excluding 2016 and 2017 (and 2020 due to COVID-19), Djokovic has reached the final of every Wimbledon edition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

2025 Wimbledon Outside picks <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s include Alexander Bublik on this list. In addition to being a very skilled player, he\u2019s coming off a championship win in Halle, where he defeated, among others, Jannik Sinner.<\/strong> It was his second time winning that grass-court tournament, and he also has two other finals on grass at ATP 250 events, so the surface suits him. He reached the quarterfinals at the recent Roland Garros (losing to Sinner), marking his best-ever Grand Slam performance.

Taylor Fritz, world number five, is another player who has performed very well on grass this year and could spring a surprise. He has reached the Wimbledon quarterfinals twice, recently won the ATP 250 in Stuttgart, and is currently in the semifinals of the ATP 250 in Eastbourne,<\/strong> a tournament he has already won three times. He has played in four finals on grass\u2014and won them all.

Lastly, let\u2019s include Alexander Zverev. The German is ranked third in the world and had a strong showing this month on grass, even though he didn\u2019t win a title:<\/strong> he was a finalist at the ATP 250 in Stuttgart and a semifinalist at the ATP 500 in Halle. This year, he also reached the final of the Australian Open, and Wimbledon is the only Grand Slam where he hasn\u2019t yet made a final\u2014his best results there have been three fourth-round appearances (2017, 2021, and 2024). His only title so far this year came at the ATP 500 in Munich in April. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
