Why Bet on Puebla?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

One of the worst teams in recent years\u2014if not the worst\u2014has been Puebla. In the last tournament, they finished second-to-last with just nine points, two ahead of Santos. They scored only 12 goals, the fewest in the entire competition. <\/strong>

They ended the season with three straight losses and a winless streak of nine matches, earning just one point and scoring only two goals during that stretch\u2014a truly embarrassing run. Despite this, the club decided to retain Argentine coach Pablo Guede.

Over the last three tournaments, Puebla has won just seven out of 51 matches, collecting only 28 of a possible 153 points.<\/strong> Last year, they set a Mexican record for the fewest points in a single tournament, earning only five, with just one win.

\u2018La Franja\u2019 made many changes ahead of this tournament in an attempt to turn things around. New arrivals include Edgar Guerra, Alejandro Organista, Owen Gonz\u00e1lez, Luis Gabriel Rey, Miguel \u2018Isco\u2019 Ram\u00edrez, Esteban Lozano, Nicol\u00e1s D\u00edaz, and Walter Portales. Departures include Gustavo Ferrareis, Luis Qui\u00f1ones, Alberto Herrera, Jorge Rodr\u00edguez, Brayan Angulo, Luis Garc\u00eda, Jair Gonz\u00e1lez, Christian Mares, Sebasti\u00e1n Olmedo, Emmanuel Gularte, and Wacho Jim\u00e9nez.

They played several friendlies, winning the first few against Atlante (4-3), Morelia (3-0), Zacatepec (1-0), Coyotes (2-1), and Quer\u00e9taro (5-4). However, they lost their last two matches 2-1 against Am\u00e9rica and Toluca. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why Bet on Atlas?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Atlas didn\u2019t perform as poorly as their upcoming opponent, but they were still eliminated in the regular phase. With 18 points, they finished 14th, just three points behind 10th-place Pumas,<\/strong> who claimed the final Play-In spot.

One of the positives for the Jalisco-based team is that they ended the season strong, beating Quer\u00e9taro 2-1 away and drawing the derby against Chivas, eliminating their Guadalajara rivals on goal difference.

If there\u2019s one standout on the \u2018Zorros\u2019, it\u2019s Uros Durdevic. The Montenegrin striker scored 12 goals and provided three assists, including nine goals in his last eight matches.

The club has focused on shoring up its defense, bringing in goalkeeper C\u00e9sar Ramos and defenders Gustavo Ferrareis, R\u00f3ber Pier, and Jorge Rodr\u00edguez. Ramos could play an important role right away, as starting keeper Camilo Vargas is injured and may miss the season opener.

Although neither club has made it official yet, multiple media outlets in Mexico report that midfielder Jeremy M\u00e1rquez is set to join Cruz Azul\u2014a significant loss for Atlas, as he\u2019s been one of their top players and has spent his entire career at the club. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These are undoubtedly two clubs that owe their fans after their recent performances. While Puebla\u2019s last Liga MX<\/a> tournament was embarrassing, they made many changes that could prove significant, so we\u2019re giving them the benefit of the doubt and predicting they\u2019ll take the win.

Their most recent meeting at Estadio Cuauhtemoc was on July 19, 2024, and the \u2018Zorros\u2019 also won that one (1-2). Puebla hasn\u2019t won at home against Atlas since 2021 (1-0).
