We\u2019ve reached the end of Matchday 6 in Liga MX with a new leader, in a weekend where only one away team won and several matches ended in draws.

Monterrey now sits at the top after crushing Necaxa 3-0, taking advantage of the draw between Le\u00f3n and Pachuca.

One of the biggest surprises was the 2-2 draw between Mazatl\u00e1n and Tigres, after the home side was reduced to 10 men in the 2nd minute and the visitors equalized at the 90+10 minute mark.

The only away victory came in the final match, when Am\u00e9rica came from behind to defeat Atlas 2-4 at the Estadio Jalisco. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Pachuca Group family duel, Le\u00f3n and Pachuca drew 1-1 with both goals coming from penalties, costing the \u2018Tuzos\u2019 the Liga MX<\/a> lead.

The first goal of the match came for the visitors through Oussama Idrissi from the penalty spot in the 13th minute. The home side responded the same way in the final play of the first half, with Panamanian forward Ismael D\u00edaz converting from the spot. Since he arrived from Universidad Cat\u00f3lica of Ecuador, D\u00edaz has made an impact on the team.

Pachuca pushed harder, especially in the second half, where they recorded 17 shots. In the closing stages, after Valentin Gauthier was sent off, the \u2018Felinos\u2019 sat back and managed to hold on to a point.

With the draw, the \u2018Tuzos\u2019 drop to fourth place with 13 points, while Le\u00f3n sits ninth with seven. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Monterrey climbed to the top of the Apertura MX after crushing Necaxa 3-0 with goals from their international stars.

The match opened early with a stunning strike from Lucas Ocampos in the 15th minute. It was a brilliant team move that ended with six one-touch passes and a powerful finish from outside the box by the Argentine, who came in after scoring a brace in the previous match.

The second goal came just six minutes later with an Olympic goal from Sergio Canales. The Spaniard took advantage of the fact that there was no defender at the near post and goalkeeper Ezequiel Unsa\u00edn was slightly off his line, curling it straight in for the 2-0.

The third came at the hour mark through a penalty converted by Sergio Ramos, who scored his first goal of the season.

With the victory, the Rayados now sit at the top with 15 points from five wins and one loss,<\/strong> one point ahead of Am\u00e9rica and Cruz Azul. Necaxa, meanwhile, dropped to 14th place with just five points. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cruz Azul managed to stay unbeaten and now sits third, just one point off the top, after defeating Toluca 1-0 in a crucial match.

The only goal of the game came late, in the 78th minute, with a brilliant header from Luka Romero following a long pass from Jes\u00fas Orozco.

The \u2018M\u00e1quina\u2019 drew their first two games but then went on a four-game winning streak to climb to second place with 14 points.<\/strong> Meanwhile, the \u2018Diablos Rojos\u2019 stalled in sixth place with 10 points. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was a tough battle for Am\u00e9rica, but they managed to come from behind and defeat Atlas 2-4 to stay in the fight for the top of the table.

The \u2018\u00c1guilas\u2019 took the lead in the 21st minute with a penalty from Brian Rodr\u00edguez and thought it would be an easy night. However, in stoppage time, Gustavo del Prete scored a stunner with a strike from the edge of the box that flew into the far top corner past goalkeeper Luis Malag\u00f3n.

Just four minutes into the second half, at the 49th, a low, powerful cross from Jos\u00e9 Rivaldo Lozano was finished first-time by Diego Gonz\u00e1lez to give Atlas a 2-1 lead. The \u2018Zorros\u2019 nearly extended their advantage 10 minutes later with a header from Uros Durdevic, but VAR ruled him slightly offside.

That was the wake-up call for Andr\u00e9 Jardine, who immediately made three substitutions, including his star signing Allan Saint-Maximin. The changes paid off.

At the 73rd minute, \u00c1lvaro Fidalgo equalized 2-2 with a well-placed shot inside the box after a pass from Kevin \u00c1lvarez. Then, after Aldo Rocha was sent off in the 82nd minute for a second yellow, Am\u00e9rica piled on the pressure. That\u2019s when Maxi made his mark on his debut\u2014waiting at the penalty spot, he hammered home Isaias Violante\u2019s cross with his right foot to put Am\u00e9rica back in front.

In stoppage time, a controversial penalty was awarded to Am\u00e9rica. V\u00edctor D\u00e1vila\u2019s initial shot was saved by Camilo Vargas, but the rebound fell back to the Chilean, who converted to seal the 2-4 win.
